  • Was just as described and exactly what we wanted

"A friend and I stayed there to celebrate our retirements. We wanted a location that was very quiet and private but also very close to town with amenities like restaurants, shopping and theaters. Guest Nest was this and more. The cottage was exceptionally well maintained and clean. The kitchen was more than fully equipped and the little extras like coffee and a basket of granola bars and trail mix were especially nice. We didn't use the Apple TV very much but it had a good selection of choices if we had wanted to watch it. Both beds were very comfortable and the walk-in shower was just what we wanted. We are definitely planning on staying at the Guest Nest again the next time we are in Port Townsend."

  • Hidden Gem of Relaxation and Rejuvenation

"We've stayed twice now (Spring and Fall) are continually mesmerized by the Cabin. The location is quiet and secluded, but with plenty to do. We typically bring games (cards, dice, board games) to play. There are games, books, and puzzles provided by the hosts as well. Lots of beautiful roads to walk and a canoe to explore the lake. Outdoor fire pit and an indoor fireplace make for a cozy 'glam-camping' experience. There is little to no cell service at the cabin, no TVs, and no internet. Its a forced blackout of tech and the break does the soul good. There are also so many state parks nearby, hiking trails, and the magical pies/food of Whidbey Island Pies and Greenbank Farms is not to be missed. Its an amazing getaway and we can't wait to come back!"

  • A Perfect Fit

"We wanted a pleasant house in an attractive setting which would accommodate the reunion of our immediate family, three families with their seven children, and Great Aunt, and the two of us, Grandma and Granddad, and indeed, the VRBO pictures represent the house well. We came from three of the four corners of the U.S. All sixteen of us could share the large living areas without feeling crowded, the three of us over seventy, our three daughters and their husbands, the seven cousins (ranging in age from 8 to 23) could retire in the evening to the privacy of their own bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was well furnished and suited for preparing food (double oven, crock pot, blender, griddle, food processer, grill, fire pit) and cleaning up afterwards- with two dishwashers! The home is located in a tiny community of people at the end of a road, a lane and a half wide, a couple of miles off a state highway for a total of seven miles from I-5. However, it is here that a modern shopping center is located, convenient enough for restocking supplies. For those who would enjoy a measure of solitude, this house is all the more suitable for renewing family life and bringing people together, especially for us, thus creating chance to become acquainted with one another. There are two entries to the pebble beach, one demanding, the other, four blocks from the house, easy. Bring binoculars in case you want a close-up of a sea otter (or orca should one show up). Eagles abound . Also, we used the house as a jumping off point for sight-seeing in Everett (Boeing) and the Seattle area as well as a day and a half venture into Victoria, B.C. (foreign travel for the youngsters!). Finally, Donna and Jeff were responsive hosts, and although we were unable to meet with them, they saw to it that we were well-satisfied."

  • Lovely old farm house

"We stayed at this lovely home the 4th of July weekend. We had a wonderful time in this well equipped home. It had old time charm but all the the modern conveniences. I would recommend this charming home to all my friends and family. The private beach was a plus to our stay and, the sheep were a delight, our grandchildren loved them."
