  • Wow, beautiful and warm!

"4 couples and my caterer stayed on the property and there was so much room. It was great to have the cottage living area to hang out in while my caterer was cooking up a storm in the amazing and well stocked kitchen in the main house. She said she was cooking on her fantasy stove and oven! The area is breath taking and even though we had some rain and wind, the gas fireplace keeps the main area warm and toasty. We were treated to wind surfers doing stunts on the lagoon during one windy afternoon, it was astounding. So we all loved it, Betty was great to work with, there were no unreasonable cleaning requests ( just strip your beds and take out the trash) upon vacating the property. WE highly recommend this house."

  • You will feel the family love in this house!

"Perfect for our family weekend away!! Gretchen was wonderful to work with and I am so grateful she is sharing her cozy family home with renters. You can feel the family history and love for this unique 1920's house. The area is very quiet and neighbors friendly. We had a wonderful time and will be back! The only thing bad about this house was leaving!!!"

  • Incredible Views

"We had a lovely stay at the charming cottage. Julia and her "boys" were such wonderful hosts! Our days always started out with coffee on the porch overlooking the bay ,and ended with food and wine on the porch watching the ever changing sunsets. We had fun daily outings on Whidbey, but the highlight was always coming "home" cooking up a gourmet meal and relaxing and soaking up the views. Whidbey is a magical place and Julia and her property definitely "dazzles"!! Karen and Rod"

  • A wonderful place for a wonderful occasion!!

"My brother was getting married on Vashon Island and our family wanted a place to stay all together to enjoy each other's company. This house fit the bill perfectly! The setting could not have been more lovely and we had unusually hot weather during the day, making the evenings absolutely perfect for sitting outside enjoying the waves and the gorgeous full moon. My daughters and my sister-in-law loved "The Nest" - the boat house that literally could have slept 4 or 5 more people! The kitchen was stocked with cooking items, the washer/dryer was fantastic, we had a ton of towels, sheets, pillows, etc. We played the available board games, used the kayaks and the inner tubes and my daughter and husband found a tiny baby octopus in the tide pool during low tide - it was amazing! The drive down the steep, winding driveway (would have liked to have known about that before getting there in the dark) was so worth the location and the serenity of feeling away from it all. It was just a short ride into town, which is lovely, and the ferry was easy to catch. Thank you for the use of your wonderful house!!"
