  • Peaceful, Scenic, Comfortable, All We Needed!

"Our month at beautiful Seacliff Guest House just minutes away from downtown Gig Harbor was a great idea! Its peaceful setting, overlooking the waters of Colvos or West Passage was spectacular even on the very few cloudy days we had during our month there. The cozy and spacious Guest House was outfitted with everything we needed. Our host, Debbie, was so hospitable and friendly. Our computer borrowed Debbie’s WiFi connection and our cell phones were nicely operable. The bed was very comfortable, and freshly laundered towels and linens were always at our disposal. During breakfast on our first morning, we had an enthusiastic visitor who stood grinning at us through the large kitchen window…four legs and a rapidly wagging tail completed the picture. It was Hannah, the resident yellow lab who repeated this performance almost daily. Her next pattern was to round the corner and wait patiently on the doorstep for her petting session. On our daily walks we were greeted by Debbie’s tawny horse, elegant Miss Montana, who often shared her corral with the local deer. Seacliff Guest House, with its close up view of the southern tip of Vashon Island, just an Adirondack chair away, also has one of the very best views of Mt. Rainier and Pt. Defiance at the edge of Tacoma. It was a wonderful home base for day trips, as well as frequent hops into homey Gig Harbor with its galleries, shops and eateries. We marveled at our own primordial forest along the route into “town”, thickly laden with towering Douglas Firs and red-barked madrone trees. We drove all the way to Port Townsend to see the Wooden Boat Festival, and to Tacoma to do the museums. With a short drive to nearby Bremerton, we boarded the ferry to Seattle. Within an hour we were within easy walking distance of Pikes Market and Pioneer Square. We highly recommend Seacliff Guest House to other travelers, and we look forward to coming back sometime! • Gorgeous house steps from the water, with all the amenities you could want!

"This property is really something special. Laurie and her family were gracious enough to open up their immaculate home to virtual strangers, and I am so thankful for it! I planned a surprise 40th birthday trip for my husband and several of our friends and we couldn't have picked a better location. Gig harbor is a beautiful town with a quaint harbor area and just enough around to make it a true vacation, but without the chaos and traffic of a bigger city. The home was very easy to find, although it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. One night I made dinner for 12 and it was very easy in their well-equipped kitchen, and all of us were able to sit in the dining area (there were plenty of plates, utensils, napkins, and even placemats). The patio has a fire pit table and white lights - a perfect spot for socializing and playing one of the many games they have available to use. The guys stayed up late to use the awesome game room which has a big screen tv, pool table and more. The mornings were enjoyed in the backyard drinking coffee, listening to the birds (there's a lot of wildlife in the area), and eating berries from the dozens of bushes. The house is immaculately clean and maintained and feels like home with comfortable beds, ample couches, and tasteful décor. We visited Kopachuck State Park a couple of times and saw huge slugs, more berries, deer, and some people clamming in the early morning. My husband and I hope to visit the area again with our kids and will look for this home first! I hope Laurie and her family continue renting their home on VRBO. Maybe then we can take advantage of the bikes and kayaks!"

  • Great getaway for you and your friends

"There were lots of beds, lots of space, good amenities and the host was friendly and responsive. The house was in a beautiful location and really allowed us to relax. The kitchen had many appliances and cookware, but I would recommend bringing mugs and bowls if you are going to be entertaining more than 8 or 10 people. We had to wash dishes halfway through meals and morning coffee to make it work. There was wifi on the property, but it was a bit flaky and we even had trouble getting music to stream reliably. The hot tub was great, but we encountered an issue where it wasn't warming up properly on the second day. Hopefully this will get resolved before the next guest arrives. We would definitely rent this space again!"

  • The quiet retreat I needed!

"I stayed at Castaway Cove for a few days in the middle of winter, and everything was as described. Having the heat on when I arrived was much appreciated!! As was the towels specifically for drying the dogs' feet - since they went in the water after the seagulls at the first opportunity. Because of the weather I wasn't able to enjoy the outdoor amenities, but from the comfort of the dining table I saw at least 3 different kinds of ducks and other waterfowl - bring your binoculars!"
