  • All Around Great Place, Awesome for Our Large Group

"We arrived tired and irritable after a long flight from the East Coast, rental car woes, and kids who needed naps. We weren't in very good spirits and just needed to chill. There were a few things we needed and the owner, Misti, was so sweet and helpful getting us settled. She was just a doll, and we could tell right away that she took our comfort seriously. We felt bad for being so grumbly but she understood and didn't take offense. She was quick to point out one deck chair that had a 1" strip of webbing missing and we laughed at how that could be an issue. She mentioned a guest had left a bad review about it. At that moment I made a mental note to leave her property a good review, since we all know it's only the complainers who ever feel inspired enough to log on and gripe about stuff. The manor couldn't have been more perfect for our large family. The kids just loved the horses, pool, the game room, the trails, the pokemon, the volleyball. Us big kids loved the hot tub, beautiful views, comfortable beds, and ease of getting the whole family in one place and comfortably so. The house isn't perfect, but we are talking minor stuff. Like one drawer was a little hard to pull out in the kitchen and the outdoor bar had a small tear in the awning. And in the spirit of full disclosure we did have to ask for extra bar towels in the kitchen and we ran out of TP during our stay, which the caretaker was quick to replenish. Certainly nothing that could detract from the gorgeous house and grounds, unless you are a complete jerk looking for a problem. We felt very lucky to have this house to ourselves, and loved every minute of it. Oh, did I forget the blackberries? There are blackberry bushes with the largest berries I have ever seen around the property. We made 4 delicious pies during our stay! The kids got to ride, we had a really fun scavenger hunt, the runners in our family loved the Chehalis trail so near by. I can't say enough great things about this house and farm. The week went way too fast, but we are sure to come back!"

  • Large beautifully decorated home on quiet cove

"This house was perfect for our summertime family reunion! Two living areas (main floor and downstairs) provided ample space for a variety of activities. Indoors there are many board games, a craft room, CDs and DVDs, and a ping pong table. The kitchen is large so several people can cook at the same time. The owners have thoughtfully supplied multiple water-craft with life vests for use off the private dock, and plenty of fishing poles and folding chairs. The children in our group were 10 and 12 years of age so were able to safely use the stairs and dirt path down to the water. As a special bonus, everyone delighted in the wildlife; a mother deer and babies, a racoon family, and two rabbits, seen outside the home. We would highly recommend this rental for vacations or retreats."

  • Perfect relaxing/recharging getaway!

"The best way to describe this place, is "PERFECT!". I heard about Harstine Island from a coworker. When we decided to book a relaxing weekend getaway, searched the island for rentals. I was instantly drawn to this cabin. Quaint, charming, cute and it looked like the perfect size. The owner was very nice and responsive in all correspondence. I had quite a few questions before I booked the cabin, and Nancy responded timely to every email I sent with all the info needed. She made the booking process so easy. Upon arrival, we instantly felt like we made the right choice for a relaxing getaway. Felt all the stress of busy life melt away the moment we walked in the door. It felt like stepping back to a more simple time. The cabin has a warmth to it, and all the little touches added to that. It was very clean upon arrival, kudos to the housekeeping staff (thank you!). Very surprised (and happy) to find even more items available in the kitchen then thought there would be. Fully stocked kitchen with just about every appliance and dish needed, plus a small spice selection which came in handy when we realized we forgot the basic salt n pepper for our meals. The bed in the master bedroom upstairs was so comfortable! Every night I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Falling asleep, and waking up to the quiet sounds of nature, with the deck off the masterbed was great. The BBQ was easy to use too, used it all 3 nights. And more than enough piles of wood for the wood burning stove, which heated the cabin up so nicely, plus the added crackling fire sound made evenings even better. Had a deer visit twice the first night, while eating out on the patio, came right up the deck and stared at us. Being so close to the beach was great too. Morning coffee standing on the patio you can hear the waves, and the walk was about 2 minutes to the beach itself. I could go on and on, but I don't want to give up every little secret this place has to offer. After working lots of overtime at work over the last few months, this place was the perfect getaway to unwind and recharge! We didn't want to leave. Back at home, and it's hard to believe we were just at this amazing place this weekend. Highly recommend this place. This will be added as a 'must return to' list for sure. Thank you Nancy, for opening up your wonderful cabin to others to enjoy!"

"Everything from the wonderfully friendly owners to the cleanliness and location of the house was amazing! The owners greeted us to make sure we got in and settled and then gave us privacy. The house was perfectly appointed with everything we needed- kitchen, bath, bedroom, you name it! It's a five minute walk to grocery, food, festivals in the parks and an amazing farmers' market! We highly recommend this property!!!"
