"We would certainly recommend the Victorian Retreat in Ballard. Was a great area & quiet. The unit was roomy & had all the conveniences."

  • Great apartment in Ballard

"We spent a week here in September moving our daughter into SPU. This apartment was exactly what I look for in a short term rental: clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient location. The kitchen was very well stocked and I cannot think of a thing we needed during the week it did not have. My daughter slept well in the sofa bed, hot water was always plentiful and we had plenty of space for all of our luggage and boxes. We were always able to park right in front of the house and it was an easy 3 minute walk to the bus stop on the days we chose not to drive. WiFi was no issue for my husband who had to do a little work each day. I had a couple of questions prior to our trip and Eric responded very quickly and was friendly and accommodating. He even allowed me to ship one of my daughter's textbooks to the house prior to our arrival. We spent time at SPU in Queen Anne, downtown and Northgate and found the location to work well for all three. We ate at Ray's Cafe (beautiful views) based on Eric's recommendation and enjoyed a lovely Italian dinner at Soprano's, both of which I would recommend. I would definitely stay here again."

  • Clean, quiet and spacious... perfect for our family

"Our family of six adults was able to spread out and relax comfortably in this town home on a cozy, quiet street in Ballard. The amenities met or exceeded our expectations. It was nice to find that some staples were provided like hand soap, trash bags, coffee filters, laundry supplies and plenty of towels (bath and kitchen). The radio (already tuned to NPR) was a nice touch. We really appreciated the off-street parking space that came with the rental. This is an attached unit but we never heard a sound from the neighbors. The owner was available immediately to help us when we had a question. We were happy to discover a supermarket and coffee shops very nearby. The walkability was fantastic. We enjoyed excellent restaurants (Moshi Moshi Sushi, The Other Coast Cafe, Miro Tea, Hot Cakes, Java Bean Coffee, Ballard Bros. Seafood and Mighty-O Donuts) and entertainment (The Ballard Locks, Stash Pot Shop {hey, it's legal here}, The Noble Fir) without leaving the area. Ballard is a small town with a big sparkle. When we wanted to go downtown we found the RapidRide bus to be an easy and affordable commute. This is a home and a location I would return to."

  • U of W Parents

"This is our second time to stay at Treat House. It is a great location for us to visit our sons at U of W. Easy 15 minute (yes, there is Seattle traffic - but it is a relatively easy drive) commute to the University or downtown. The accommodations are exactly like the pictures and description on the site. We really enjoy the homey feel and the radiant floor heat. My favorite part of the stay is my husband walking to Larsen Bakery for my morning pastry! You sometimes do hear the families' footsteps upstairs, but it is never enough to be annoying. We look forward to staying at Treat House again over the next four years until our last son graduates."
