  • Perfect family home- ideal location

"We cannot provide enough accolades about this home and the management. Our family (4-6 adults and 2 small children) stayed in the home for a week from March 15-22. It was perfect for our needs. The two upstairs bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. One room had a king, perfect forbiurbtall family. The other room had two twins which we requested be made into another King. It was also very comfortable. Closets contained hangers, good lights, wonderful Windows for a nice breeze and privacy curtains. The two large upstairs bathrooms were spacious, lovely and very clean. The downstairs space was beautiful and cozy. We cooked large medals daily and the kitchen was comfortable and well stocked. The large dining room table easily sat 8 people. Lovely dark wood floors with nice throw rugs. Cozy, well designed living room with a nice television unit. There was also a washer and dryer, baby gear, and half bath downstairs. Everything was accessible and functional. We loved the fences in back yard for the kids. Lovely mature tree with spring blooms. Spacious driveway easily parked our two cars. The best feature was the neighborhood it was ideally situated several houses from a beautiful, large park with playground and paved walking trail. In the other direction, a 1.5 walk brought us to Pikes Place and diwntown destinations. There was a Starbucks, nice grocery store and Trader Joes within walking distance. Lake Washington was also a 1.5 mile walk. We felt like residents in Seattle, rather than visitors, planning our days from this quaint neighborhood with really friendly people around the block Needless to say, we spent a great deal of time outside and logged many miles by foot. And the food in Seattle amazing. We were in the International Distrist and took advantage of authentic Vietnamese and Ethopoan food, all walking distance from the house. We will definitely return to Seattle and hope this home is available. Thanks for a wonderful stay."

  • Weekend in Seattle

"This property was way to big for both of us but we were moved last minute due to unforeseen circumstances with original booking. Pretty close to downtown by Uber or Car2Go. typically we like to stay close enough to downtown to walk. This weekend was a rainy one so we couldn't take advantage of the fantastic looking back yard."

  • Fantastic view, great location, thoughtful hosts...

"My friend and I stayed in Kristen & Lance's guest house for a week while on a girls' trip. The cottage is the lower level of their home, and it is much larger than the photos appear. The view is as advertised!! We enjoyed several incredible sunsets. The kitchen is adequately stocked to cook meals - we cooked a wonderful dinner with goods bought at Pike's Market. We appreciated the coffee and pumpkin bread provided by our hosts (though our bakery addiction meant we didn't eat the pumpkin bread!). Kristen was also very generous in allowing us to keep access to the guest house on our final day because their next guests were not arriving that day and we had a red-eye flight. Andy and Marley are an excellent welcoming committee, tails wagging always! Their (adorable) grandchildren were visiting during our stay, so there were some little feet we could hear running overhead, but Kristen and her family were extremely considerate of our presence below, Lance kept checking to be sure we weren't bothered. West Seattle is a nice location from which to explore the area, with it's own charm, good restaurants and an excellent bakery in Bakery Nouveau. There is a notebook and guidebooks in the cottage to help with choosing where to eat, go, and what to do if you don't already have your whole trip planned. And Kristen offers additional great tips - such as suggesting we take the Chuckanut Bypass on our drive to Vancouver --spectacular. We recommend the Puget Sound Express Whale Watching (departs from Edmonds - much closer to Seattle than other tours) - excellent family business, interesting naturalist on the boat, and homemade blueberry coffee cake to boot. Also recommend Bon Vivant Winery Tours - small group full day in Woodinville, visiting wineries tailored to your group's tastes. A great vacation! Great city, beautiful part of the country. I would recommend the BlueSky Guest house as a comfortable, easy home base for exploring the area. Thank you Kristen! Erin"

  • Beautiful and Peaceful House

"We rented this house a few days prior to leaving Seattle on a cruise to Alaska. Two couples joined us. The house was PERFECT! We all wanted to stay longer. Each couple had their privacy with a comfortable bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen and gathering areas were spacious and beautifully furnished. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed daily walks along the sound and up and down many hills (great exercise). The Magnolia village stores and restaurants were close and convenient, and downtown Seattle was a short drive away. We were able to see Mt. Ranier, the sound, and snow capped mountains from our bedroom balcony, and the space needle from the rear balcony. We are from the east coast and especially enjoyed the fresh air sans humidity!"
