  • Million Dollar View!

"Overview This place is amazing, we loved it. It’s in a very nice part of Capitol Hill with a mix of some stately older homes and newer condos. Be aware it is in a very hilly part of town. This unit is part of a triplex and is the main floor. Angela, the owner, lives and works in the unit behind and there is a penthouse unit above. It has wonderful views of Lake Union and all of the activities going on there. It its beautifully furnished, decorated with original art pieces and has a nicely-appointed kitchen. We found it to be spacious and comfortable for our month-long stay in July. Angela is a very welcoming and accommodating hostess. We would be glad to stay again! Details The Living room is spacious and opens into a large dining room. There are full-wall windows, 360º overlooking the lake. You can see downtown, Queen Anne Hill, and the Space Needle. A small air conditioning unit cools the front when the sun shines in. (It actually hit 90 degrees while we were there, so we were glad for that!) The dining room table is very large and served as my workspace while we were there. The WIFI worked great. The kitchen is large and fully equipped: electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, toaster, microwave oven, coffeepot and every kitchen gadget, pot and pan you could ever need. If you can’t find it, just ask Angela. Sound The I-5 runs in front of the house but was not a problem for us. The front windows serve to deaden much of the noise. I worked every day with the bedroom window and patio door open, and we slept with the bedroom window open with no issues. Until you actually step outside, it’s not very loud and was more of a white noise than anything else. If there are neighbors in the penthouse above, you may hear the occasional footfall but such is life in the city. Little Things The laundry is in the basement with everything you need. There are lots of shelves and cubbies to stash your things, and two extra closets. Housekeepers came during our stay and did a fabulous job. Angela is a caring, attentive host (without being the slightest bit intrusive). Her welcoming, positive demeanor and joyful laugh are what we will remember most about our stay in Seattle. She’s not just a wonderful host – she’s a wonderful person. We should all have such a neighbor! If you don’t enjoy your stay in this beautiful home, then you’re doing something wrong."

  • Perfect location

"We loved staying at the Nest. The location was perfect - we wanted to visit some places in Capitol Hill - Annapurna for Indian food - and downtown, so we were right in the middle. We even walked all the way to Pier 69 - just a 30 min walk from here. We didn't have a car while in Seattle, but when we were ready to see the countryside, we rented from Budget, which is in the Homewood Suites, right next door. There was everything we needed in the apartment for light cooking, and all the furniture and beds were comfortable, and perfectly clean. Communications were easy too. Thanks!"

  • Great spot, KING bed, and counter space in bathroom; YAY!

"Garnett's apartment is a great little spot; super convenient, and equipped with everything a traveler needs for a comfortable home away from home. King bed is especially nice, as well as an actual bathroom counter to spread out all the annoying sample size stuff you have to drag around for travel (this is huge, IMHO). Completely functional kitchen, tho we just made breakfast here (pre-ground coffee and filters supplied). Garnett is a gracious host, and tho we didn't meet this time (we had met face to face on a previous visit), we felt welcomed and attended to in just the right way. She phoned me with a heads up about an anticipated parking challenge on the Fourth of July, when the rest of the city flocks to nearby Gasworks Park to watch the fireworks. She was right: the streets all around were chockablock and had we not heeded her warning to park our car by mid-afternoon (right across the street from apartment entrance), we would've been waaaaay out of luck. We anticipated a noisy night that night, with revelers returning to their cars, but we were not disturbed at all (considerate Seattlites). Highly recommend Garnett's place!"

  • Perfect!

"Our stay was wonderful! Our home away from home for the week met all our expectations and needs. The property description and photos are accurate and a great representation. The location is perfect. Gas Works Park for the 4th of July was exciting. Stone Way Cafe is a great place to get coffee and breakfast or lunch. Ro Ro BBQ was a treat for us after a two week hiatus from Texas. Paseo Caribbean on Fremont St. was an amazing hole in the wall. We walked almost everywhere. Oh, the Fremont Troll is just down the street for an iconic photo Seattle photo shoot. Thank you Andrew for making our home away from home the perfect experience. You are the perfect host! Suzanne and Kevin"
