  • Fantastic view, great location, thoughtful hosts...

"My friend and I stayed in Kristen & Lance's guest house for a week while on a girls' trip. The cottage is the lower level of their home, and it is much larger than the photos appear. The view is as advertised!! We enjoyed several incredible sunsets. The kitchen is adequately stocked to cook meals - we cooked a wonderful dinner with goods bought at Pike's Market. We appreciated the coffee and pumpkin bread provided by our hosts (though our bakery addiction meant we didn't eat the pumpkin bread!). Kristen was also very generous in allowing us to keep access to the guest house on our final day because their next guests were not arriving that day and we had a red-eye flight. Andy and Marley are an excellent welcoming committee, tails wagging always! Their (adorable) grandchildren were visiting during our stay, so there were some little feet we could hear running overhead, but Kristen and her family were extremely considerate of our presence below, Lance kept checking to be sure we weren't bothered. West Seattle is a nice location from which to explore the area, with it's own charm, good restaurants and an excellent bakery in Bakery Nouveau. There is a notebook and guidebooks in the cottage to help with choosing where to eat, go, and what to do if you don't already have your whole trip planned. And Kristen offers additional great tips - such as suggesting we take the Chuckanut Bypass on our drive to Vancouver --spectacular. We recommend the Puget Sound Express Whale Watching (departs from Edmonds - much closer to Seattle than other tours) - excellent family business, interesting naturalist on the boat, and homemade blueberry coffee cake to boot. Also recommend Bon Vivant Winery Tours - small group full day in Woodinville, visiting wineries tailored to your group's tastes. A great vacation! Great city, beautiful part of the country. I would recommend the BlueSky Guest house as a comfortable, easy home base for exploring the area. Thank you Kristen! Erin"

  • Really nice place to stay!

"We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at the west seattle vacation cottage. It was a cozy, comfortable place near a bunch of awesome places in West Seattle. If we were going to stay in West Seattle again, we would definitely stay here!"

  • Better than the pictures!

"The Casita is perfect! Everything feels clean, comfortable, and almost new. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, baking and cooking utensils, grater, can opener, scissors, and a few basics like salt, sugar, syrup, etc. Dish washing detergent, detergent pods for the clothes washer, shampoo/conditioner are also supplied. The bed was clean, firm and comfortable. The outside has a motion sensor light so you won't be tripping up the stairs in the dark. The beach is a very close walk with excellent restaurants on the Alki beachfront. Everything was perfect."

  • Charming Beach Condo

"I had a wonderful time at Janie's condo. So much so I asked her if she might sell it to me someday! There is no location quite like this in West Seattle - or Seattle as a whole for that matter. You will not be disappointed by the views. I rented a paddle board at Mountain Outfitters and paddle boarded every morning on the calm Puget Sound. It was heaven!"
