  • Great find!

"We love this place! So quiet. A washer/dryer, wifi works great, cable, fully equipped kitchen and two decks! A short walk to several great restaurants and the bay. And Darren was easy to communicate with. You can't go wrong with this home."

  • Clean, nice, everything you need for a comfortable stay that feels like home.

"I've been some VRBOs that are bare bones, without paper towels, etc. This one is the opposite. Was happy to find everything I needed to live like I was at home- from spices to coffee, a radio, laundry detergent. The apartment had its own washer dryer combo inside the unit. Comfortable and quality bed and bedding. Benches on the front and back porch were welcoming. There is a small fenced backyard with nice landscaping. I stayed for 4 weeks and anytime I had a question, the owner always got right back to me. People live in the unit above and they were never loud. The only drawback to the whole place was that you can hear a little bit of traffic from I-5, but the radio and white noise device drowned it out so I stopped noticing it. Found some nice trails to walk on nearby. There was also a Fred Meyers and Whole Foods down the street. I was very happy here and will be coming back!"

  • Amazing Views, Relaxing, Private

"Chuckanut Bay Hide Away is the perfect spot to do just that. It's very quiet, private, and the breathtaking views are just like in the pictures, including an amazing sunset. Accommodations are limited to 2 guests, making it a perfect spot for a romantic weekend. The location, being close to Fairhaven and Bellingham for shopping and dining, as well as Chuckanut Mountain and Larabee State Park for outdoor adventure, is ideal. The owner, Howard, was very gracious and helpful, without being intrusive. There was a full notebook with local information, as well as small touches like a reuseable shopping bag with frequent shopper cards from nearby grocery stores. The lack of a full kitchen might deter some, but for myself I'm not interested in cooking while on vacation. There are far too many great restaurants to try out in town. A coffee pot, corkscrew, fridge, and microwave more than meet my needs. A few things to be aware of: Trains do pass very close to the property, which did wake me up a couple of times at night. Personally this didn't bother me at all, I found it kind of charming. It was also somewhat difficult to find at first and I'm glad that I made sure to arrive during daylight hours. The directions given were great, it just truly is hidden away. In addition, this would not be a good place for someone who has trouble with stairs, as the access requires walking down a full flight from the garage above. I would definitely return and recommend this property to others looking for a quiet, private location to get away from it all."
