  • Lovely little getaway retreat

"This little house next to the main house is nestled in the woods. It is private and quiet. The inside is very open, light and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked although we only used the coffee machine and fridge. It was the perfect place for us to have as our home based while we hiked and ate our way through the Bellingham area."

  • More than Perfect!

"Cedar Tree House was more than perfect for our large group of 14 family members during a weekend of wedding festivities. The setting is peaceful and welcoming, making all of us feel like we were HOME. The house is enveloped in a grove of cedars, which emits a sense of blissful seclusion. I was pleasantly surprised with the large bedrooms, which provided adequate, comfortable beds for all of us. Never once did we feel overcrowded in this spacious, lovely home. The hot tub was one of my favorite experiences - relaxing, floating and enjoying the songs of the frogs. A perfect way to end our busy days. Cedar Tree House will always be our first choice when we visit the Bellingham area! Kara, thank you for your hospitality and genuine spirit of kindness!"

  • Great weekend, even without perfect weather

"It was a bit cold and damp, but there were stacks of firewood and we cooked and admired the views. So much birdsong, it felt like Hawaii. Spotted a bald eagle when we arrived and spent a lazy weekend watching more intrepid types fishing and boating. Next time we come hopefully we will have better weather and can enjoy the outdoors, but it is no show-stopper. Note, there are quite a few stairs to get to the chalet. The view is worth it, but those stairs are probably not for everyone. This would be a great place for kids too."

  • AWESOME Bellingham home!

"We loved our time at Whatcom Falls Retreat, and Erik was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was always extremely timely in his responses and never seemed to tire in his patience, despite my many questions before the stay! He was very accommodating, and we are extremely grateful! The house was absolutely beautiful, and the beds were *extremely* comfortable... We even looked at the type of feather topping because we want one for our own home! Our extended family stayed at the home while we celebrated our very small wedding the backyard. The space was great for family gathering and having bedrooms on 2 sides of the house helped with sleeping children! The hot-tub was awesome and we walked Whatcom trails several times everyday as it is just so accessible and beautiful. We daily used the kitchen and found it well stocked with kitchen supplies, spices, and basic cooking ingredients, which really helped! The house is in a quiet neighborhood but only a short drive from downtown. We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this home. Erik, thank you for being such a wonderful host! It felt like home... but way better!"
