  • Cozy Getaway

"This was a lovely place to stay. We rented the guest house and there was no one staying in the main house, so it was extremely private. The place was easy to find. A perfect little studio with a great kitchen. The place had everything you needed. The hot tub was wonderful. There was a family of deer that roamed the property which was really cool. Everything was an easy short drive from the house. We had a great time and hope to stay here again!"

  • Could not ask for a better weekend getaway spot!

"My husband and I were blown away by how nice this place is, it definitely exceeded our expectations. Very spacious with comfortable furniture and a huge bathroom. I loved that the fireplace is 2-sided, so you can enjoy it from the living room or the bedroom. There are also a lot of little extras that made our stay so much nicer, games and puzzles, a small selection of books and movies, and a binder with all the information (restaurant menus, tourist activities, local business guides, etc.) to help us make the most of our time. It didn't feel like we were at a hotel or even an Airbnb, it felt like we were staying at a rich friend's vacation place. The location couldn't have been better. You see the ocean from the windows and can easily walk to restaurants, bars, and cute shops. This will definitely be our go-to whenever we visit Orcas!"

  • Great retreat for the family

"We stayed in early October with our two young children. It was a miserable day the first day, but we were cozy in our cabin on the lake. The fire was nice and the kept the whole place VERY toasty. We enjoyed playing cribbage, yahtzee, drinking hot chocolate and watching movies while we watched the rain come down. The kids loved all of the 'hiding' spots in the loft area and the views were stunning. We were lucky the next day as the weather cleared. We went to nearby Whatcom Lake trail system (5 min drive away) and enjoyed a stunning walk as a family. We came back in the afternoon and enjoyed fishing off the dock (no luck) and toodling around on the canoe and kayaks. It is a peaceful, serene lake and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We even saw a great blue heron fishing on the banks. The proximity to the city is awesome; we didn't feel like cooking on the second night, so we just ordered some take out and we only had a 10 min drive to pick it up. A couple was renting the suite underneath us, but we couldn't hear them at all. We did have to share the kayaks, but we worked out the timing and it was no big deal. I don't know how busy it gets in the summer, but we were the only people on the lake most of the time. I would highly recommend! Place was very clean and had everything we needed (wood and tools, cookware, towels, blankets, etc). We booked very last minute, but the communication was prompt."

  • Fantastic lodgings

"We had a tremendous holiday on San Juan Island, no small part of which was this gracious lodging. We loved the ample space, the great windows and field views, the excellent kitchen facilities, the outdoor decks, the comfortable beds, and the proximity to everything. The hosts provided a notebook which was a great resource in planning our days (and dining). The hosts were readily available through email, and by phone when we encountered an internet issue. The weather was spectacular during our visit, biking, orcas, and hiking filled our days. A suggestion/recommendation: The house listing suggests that eight people can stay, but the living room furniture actually only comfortably accommodates three or four. Since there were just four of us, we worked it out. Aside from that, this was an amazing stay."
