  • Experience the PNW at it's finest

"My boyfriend and I stayed here for a short get-away from the city. The cabin was lovey, really just like the photos. I was a little sad to see just how close the neighbors were, but they were very quiet (maybe not home at all) and it turned out to not be a problem at all. The view from the house is amazing. Most of the day we were here was cloudy, so we didn't see much. But the clouds broke just enough for sunset, and what a treat that was! Thanks so much to the owners for sharing such a special place!"

  • Perfect Family Island Getaway

"We have been staying at Michelle and Lanie's rental houses for the past 5 years. This year we rented both cottages - SeaSpray and the slightly larger cottage on the same property - for a family reunion. The huge lawn in between the two houses gives my kids amply space to play soccer or badminton or just run around. Each year we have added more "toys" to our journey to Lopez, including stand up paddle boards, bikes, and we always rent a double kayak from the kayak rental place in town - all of which we can keep on the property with us. It makes for the most amazing and adventurous vacation. In 5 years of visiting we still haven't gotten to all the places we want to explore on the island! The cottages are immaculate, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable with stunning views of the water from most rooms. Michelle and Lanie treat us like family, with their kindness (including treats from their garden!) and hospitality. They are also equally aware of giving us lots of privacy and are respectful of us having our own family experience. It is the perfect balance of feeling well-cared for and being on our own, tucked away in the south end of the island with the beautiful Davis Bay only steps away. For the past five years, it has been a great experience for our family, who now range in age from 9 to 87. Clearly we love it because we keep coming back!"

  • Beautiful waterfront home!

"We loved our time on Lummi Island, and this was a perfect home base. The house was beautiful, well-equipped and simply delightful. We found things just as we expected to. The short walk to the beach was perfect. The view from the (many) decks was peaceful. The openness of the home allowed our family great time together. We would happily return again! Lummi Island is a great place for a serene stay. We enjoyed exploring our own beach and others (especially near the church on the west side of the island) and we enjoyed hiking in one of the three preserves on the island. People on the island were friendly."

  • Enjoy Orcas Island in Comfort (w/o the Property Taxes!)

"Olga House is a well maintained home and very comfy to live in: we loved it! We were there for 8 nights and we easily could have stayed longer - much longer! :-) The house is just up the street from the Olga public access pier which is fun to walk out on. Later in the day you can sometimes watch the wind rip through the sound while staying in the lee as it's in a little cove. Orcas Island is super cool to visit - lots of interesting parks; if you're staying 3 days or more just buy the $30 30-day Discovery Pass as you ARE going to use it. One of our favorites is the lookout tower on Mount Constitution as it's QUITE the view! Olga Island is the largest of the San Juan Islands - it even has farm land (what can I say - this surprised me!) One of our favorite restaurants is the artist co-op called Catkin and it's just on the corner of Olga Road and Point Lawrence - you can easily walk to it from the house: everything on their menu is wonderful and the artist gallery is a beautiful space. Do you (or someone you're traveling with) like beer? Then check out the Island Hopping Brewery for a taste treat. Here's an unusual thing to mention: I love the tap water at Olga House! Seriously, I had a chance to talk with one of the gents that upgraded the Olga water system many years ago. They get their water from one of the mountain lakes and use a forced sand filtration system and a minimal amount of chlorination. The result is some of the best water around. FYI: I used to work in industrial control for water treatment plants so I know what I'm talking about here. So, leave the bottled water at home. Also, there is high speed internet and a VOIP phone that allows free calling anywhere in the USA! There's cable TV and a drawer full of DVDs, too. There are also a lot (and I mean A LOT) of little deer on the island. They aren't particularly afraid of people either! Dealing with the owners was a real pleasure, too. Both are great people and totally honest and up-front! They also have some very good suggestions on where to eat, in fact we used their suggestion and had our 25th anniversary dinner at the Inn At Ship Bay: amazingly good! But you MUST make reservations to get a table. What are you waiting for? Book this place!"
