  • Perfect for children

"Wonderful place. Perfect for children. Behind a gated drive. Children can roam free. Chickens. Beautiful garden and best of all a small pond with canoe and kayak. Our kids were in heaven. Truly. We should have booked in advance and stayed longer. It was a special treat."

  • Quiet, tranquil setting

"Squalicum Lake Cottage is in a peaceful country setting yet very conveniently located. It is 15-20 minutes from Bellingham and about an hour from Mt Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest (which has some of the best hiking and most beautiful scenery we have ever seen). The cottage is well appointed and clean. We didn't spend a lot time at the cottage since we were busy seeing the sights, but we quite enjoyed the large picture window and multiple bird feeders. The cottage feels very private even though the owners are right next door, and they are very helpful if you need directions, recommendations, etc."

  • Lovely and quiet studio on San Juan Island

"My husband, our two dogs, and I stayed in this nice studio cabin during President's weekend in February 2015. It was an excellent stay. We enjoyed walking the grounds of the properties with our dogs who weren't used to such space. Our ~10 year old Great Dane had a fun time exploring the space and then resting by the gas stove. There wasn't anyone staying in the main house at the time; if there were and they had pets too, it may have been awkward, but not a problem for our weekend. We enjoyed walking down Kanaka Bay Road, exploring Lime Kiln Park, and participating in a weekend wine tasting at the San Juan Vineyards. It was off season on the island but we were looking for peace and quiet, so it was perfect! The studio is really quite spacious and was well equipped."

  • Lovely Island - house is in amazing location, but could use some updates

"This house is located in such an amazing location. We had so much fun on the beach right outside the home's doors, exploring the park and trails down the road, and exploring the rest of the island. The home itself has a lovely kitchen, loaded with kitchen ware for all your needs. The beds are okay, some furniture is extremely worn, some is in good condition. The upstairs bathroom is VERY small and anyone other than a small person will struggle to shower, or even walk in part of it. The deck facing the water was the highlight. We enjoyed meals out there, and watching the stars come out. Parking is interesting. Driveway is a steep slope. Hope there isn't a major rainstorm or have good tires to get out. It was lovely and dry while there, so we had no problem with our car."
