  • Hope Island Suite was a great place to getaway!

"Hope Island Suite was a great place to getaway for my husband and me. Lots of room for many guests to stay if you needed that space. The place was clean and well-maintained. We had a hard time getting the internet to work but we did not ask/ call for assistance as it wasn't that important to us, I am sure that Jim would have helped us if we asked. There isn't a whole lot to do within walking distance, so be prepared to do a little driving to get to food, etc. There is a full kitchen and refrigerator so if you don't want to leave for food make sure to bring what you need. The beach is really close and beautiful... We drove to La Conner for dinner one night and spent the following day in Friday Harbor. The Ferry ride is so worth it, a beautiful trip (cost is for round trip) and the town is fun with good food. Hope you enjoy your stay, we did! :)"

  • Magical weekend on the farm - We can't wait to go back!

"My family went to Hoehn Bend Farm to celebrate my 2 year old daughter's birthday. It was absolutely amazing! The setting is gorgeous and incredibly peaceful. Farmer Terry welcomed us on arrival and immediately set to work charming both my 2 and 5 year old girls. We were able to participate as fully as we wished in caring for the animals, and we all just loved it. We were lucky enough to be there during the spring and were able to watch a calf being born just feet away from us, hold 3 day old chicks (and big chickens too!), and steal peeks at a weeks-old barn owl in the rafters. Both Terry and Jean were so kind to my girls and made a point to make everything so interesting for all of us. On our way out, they took us on a jeep tour of the Terry's neighboring family farm, which was a totally different but equally gorgeous setting. Terry and Jean made everything such an adventure for my girls. They laughed their heads off going through the tree tunnels, snatching berries and cherries from the bushes and trees as we bounced past, and catching glimpses of the animals along the way. The farm house is so comfortable, and Jean has taken a great deal of care in stocking it with everything a family could possibly need, including toys/movies/books for the kids. I have nothing but praise for Hoehn Bend Farm, and, weeks later, my girls still ask every day about when we can go back!"

  • Nice Quiet place!

"Really enjoyed staying here. They house had the nice relaxing cabin feel (wood). Five of us stayed with room to spare. The fire pit is awesome! Nice and big! All the amenities were there besides food of course. The only down side's are that there is no view of the ocean, even though the ocean is only about 300 yrds away, but it didn't hamper our trip. The boat launch is about 400yrds away and down a big hill. We walked down the hill easy but had to pack the car up to bring things back up to the house. A general store is a short 5 min drive away and it has everything you need. To get to downtown Lopez its only about a 10min drive. All in all I would definitely stay here again! Nice relaxing, cheap and close to a boat launch!"

  • Driftwood beachtastic!

"We had a WONDERFUL 3 night stay here at Salmon Run. We had just gotten back from a 7-day Alaskan cruise and this was the best way to get away from the cruise crowds. From the beach, we did see "our ship" cruising back north again Saturday evening, which was pretty funny for us. This cozy, comfortable cabin was perfect for our family of four. The beds were all very comfortable. It was well stocked with everything that we needed. We enjoyed playing some games and watched a couple movies from the DVD "library." I especially loved the old-school feel of the cabin - updated with just the right balance for beachin' it, but not so fancy that you were afraid you'd mess up something. Our boys adored the rock beach and found tons of little beach crabs. There were also baby birds chirping in the bird house by the front door/garage door. We enjoyed seeing the mama keep busy feeding them. We explored Coupeville, Fort Casey, and Port Townsend. We had delicious Penn Cove mussels at the Front Street Grill. We'd definitely stay here again and hope to return. ~ A Colorado family with ties to the Northwest"
