  • Five Star reviews are more than deserved

"My wife and I are great fans of vacation rentals and have had some truly wonderful experiences, especially in the Pacific Northwest. After staying at the Samish Island Waterfront Cabin we now have a new favorite. Travelers and vacationers obviously have their own particular interests and expectations when selecting a vacation rental property, I know we certainly do. For us, our priority criteria are cleanliness, comfort, location, and accommodating owners. The Samish Island Cabin more than met all four. We couldn’t have been happier with this charming little cottage. This is one of the most relaxing places we’ve ever rented. And wow what a view! As is almost always the case with VRBO properties, the Samish Island Cabin was well furnished, provided all the linens, dishes and utensils we needed, and had available all sorts of guides and brochures about Samish Island and the surrounding Skagit Valley. The Samish Island information was very helpful because this was our first time to travel to the area. We will certainly return. Samish Island residents are among the friendliest we’ve ever met. The Wi-Fi worked very well (which has become increasingly important to us of late). We stayed at Samish Island at the hottest time of the year and were cool and comfortable and didn’t miss at all not having air conditioning. As other reviewers have mentioned, Jennifer was terrific. She is pleasant, friendly, accommodating, generous, and knows the area very well. She recommended the bakery in the quaint nearby town of Edison and what a recommendation it was. Those folks have some of the best freshly baked goods we have had anywhere. And we highly recommend breakfast at the Edison Café. This is an unassuming little place in Edison that is frequented by locals and serves one of the best and most substantial breakfasts you could ask for. Don’t miss it if breakfast is one of your favorite meals (it is mine). We highly recommend the Samish Island Waterfront Cabin and can hardly wait to return for another stay. • Relaxing weekend away with friends

"I decided to gather 9 of my closest friends for a weekend getaway just outside the city. Heading up to Guemes island was a mixture of fun adventure and relaxing getaway. We were able to enjoy our time and below I'll provide the pros/cons and my tips for future vacationers. Pros: The ferry was short, cheap, and travels across often. There was practically no noise, traffic, or other people around at all during our stay, the house is completely surrounded and feels very private. The house was very spacious and provided exactly what we needed for a short weekend away, including some board games and the garage entertainment (pool/ping pong) was greatly appreciated. The back deck is very spacious and it was very easy to accommodate everyone for relaxing and chatting in a large circle. The yard is also very spacious and can easily have multiple people running around at once. Cons: (Most of these cons were a result of me and not the house) There are only a few outdoor chairs, so bring some if you like to lounge. The ferry can only hold 20-22 cars at a time so get there a little early otherwise you may have to wait. There was no outdoor fire pit, which would have been really fun but again there was never one promised so I can't be upset about not having one. The propane tank was empty but we filled it at the local store and the home-owner reimbursed us, yay! Pro-tips: Do your research on the ferry schedule and get there 20-25 minutes early. Pack plenty of chairs and everything you'll need to enjoy they weekend (outdoor games, drinks, water, etc...). If you can't find the ping pong paddles look in the drawers by the garage sink... trust me... they are there! I recommend bringing flip flops or slippers since there is a lot of in and out of the back patio (lazy pro-tip). Bring fancy cooking utensils, the basics are there. The house was amazing and we had a great time, enjoy yourself and do the 1.1 mile Guemes Mountain hike, it was beautiful."

  • My first VRBO trip was very good

"Susan is prompt and professional. I enjoyed working with her to setup the reservation, and she was extremely nice with answering questions during my trip. The place was very clean. The photos and descriptions of the home are accurate. The neighborhood is very peaceful. Handwash and dishwashing soaps were provided. Kitchen utilities were in perfectly good working order. Various cups, pots, pans, utensils were all fine. Besides the obvious food and drink, I recommend for visitors to remember their own kitchen consumables: spices, oils, condiments, ice, etc. I recommend checking the Port Susan tide schedules. The beach is very fun for kids, and there was plenty of driftwood to make forts. I highly recommend Susan's Camano Island home."

  • Great place for 14

"We just got back from Matt's beach house and it completely exceeded our expectations. House is perfect, location is second to none. Beach is great for the kids and the changing tides provides endless opportunities. The neighbors are nice and friendly. We caught plenty of crab to eat every night and the seals swimming by at high tide were entertaining. Definitely would recommend and definitely would stay again. We had 8 adults and 6 kids."
