  • Lovely little getaway retreat

"This little house next to the main house is nestled in the woods. It is private and quiet. The inside is very open, light and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked although we only used the coffee machine and fridge. It was the perfect place for us to have as our home based while we hiked and ate our way through the Bellingham area."

  • Wonderful country living!

"The house and the location have a wonderful open feeling! Lots of windows let the outside light into the spacious, well furnished rooms, and there are games and activities to enjoy outside . Fields of tall corn, blueberries, and dairy cattle with snowcovered Mt. Baker on the eastern horizon made us realize what a lush area of Washington we were staying in. We were 10 minutes away from a good grocery store and the historic, charming Dutch downtown. Mountain hiking and visiting ocean tidepools were two of the activities that we enjoyed nearby. We were especially pleased to meet personally with Mary Ann and her children. Highly recommended!!"

  • Peaceful, Private, Perfect Hideaway

"This was our second visit to the Chuckanut Hideaway and it won't be our last! It is the perfect blend of quiet and peaceful while being close to the city of Bellingham for great restaurants, parks and shopping. The Hideaway is cozy, clean and modern with spectacular views of Chuckanut Bay. Although it is a studio, there is plenty of room - comfortable bed, large modern bathroom (complete with a porthole to capture the views) and great furniture on which to spend the afternoon reading and relaxing. Although the kitchen has no oven or stovetop it is well stocked and convenient for preparing light meals and/or snacks. Fairhaven restaurants and coffee shops are just a short drive down the road for larger meals. The small porch is the perfect spot for coffee in the morning or wine in the evening while watching the sunset. So sorry we missed you again this year, Howard!"

  • exactly what we were looking for

"The Chalet was ideal for our family. Cute, plenty of room, all the necessities for cooking and playing at the beach. And we all loved being able to walk a short block down to Birch Bay. We spent hours each day playing around in the water, then evenings relaxing at the house."
