  • Cozy and relaxing

"We used the sunshine house as basecamp for a ski weekend at Mt. Baker. The property was cozy and inviting. Our gracious hosts checked with us beforehand to make sure we had everything we needed prior to arrival and offered their help if we needed anything during our stay. The view of the lake in the morning over a cup of coffee and some breakfast can't be beat and the natural light during the day made the property feel much larger. It was about an hour from the ski hill, so it made for an easy commute to and from the mountain. We'll definitely be going back and recommending it to our friends as well."

  • Love it!

"We love staying here, amazing view, big kitchen, quiet. I would just like to have some lamps in the living room to read by. There is only one."

  • Magical weekend on the farm - We can't wait to go back!

"My family went to Hoehn Bend Farm to celebrate my 2 year old daughter's birthday. It was absolutely amazing! The setting is gorgeous and incredibly peaceful. Farmer Terry welcomed us on arrival and immediately set to work charming both my 2 and 5 year old girls. We were able to participate as fully as we wished in caring for the animals, and we all just loved it. We were lucky enough to be there during the spring and were able to watch a calf being born just feet away from us, hold 3 day old chicks (and big chickens too!), and steal peeks at a weeks-old barn owl in the rafters. Both Terry and Jean were so kind to my girls and made a point to make everything so interesting for all of us. On our way out, they took us on a jeep tour of the Terry's neighboring family farm, which was a totally different but equally gorgeous setting. Terry and Jean made everything such an adventure for my girls. They laughed their heads off going through the tree tunnels, snatching berries and cherries from the bushes and trees as we bounced past, and catching glimpses of the animals along the way. The farm house is so comfortable, and Jean has taken a great deal of care in stocking it with everything a family could possibly need, including toys/movies/books for the kids. I have nothing but praise for Hoehn Bend Farm, and, weeks later, my girls still ask every day about when we can go back!"

  • Winter getaway

"We spent 3 nights at the cottage for my 58th birthday getaway. It is a beautiful property with stunning water views from the floor to ceiling windows that wrap around 2 sides of the cottage. The pictures on the website do not do it justice! We enjoyed the gas fireplace immensely and snuggled in for the windy, snowy new years eve day! Note that your restaurant options are pretty limited in the winter! So we took advantage of the cottage kitchen. Pretty much anything you need to prepare and serve a meal (less the actual food items) is available. The Beach House Café down the street was fantastic. We had both a great dinner and a delicious New Years morning Sunday brunch there. Be sure to go to the Otto preserve for a nice walk through the woods. And don't miss visiting the secluded beach behind the island's church! We highly recommend this place and hope to be back another time."
