  • As Advertised, and Then Some!

"Terrific amenities and a breathtaking view. For a party of 10, it was truly paradise. My mom is currently wheelchair-bound and the house was well-accessible. We had a lot of good times there."

  • Magical!

"The moment you step on the ferry and head into the nether-world of green, misty islands you know you are leaving the real world behind. So ethereal and beautiful! I think Sea Spray is the first home out of the many I have vacationed in that exceeds expectations on all levels. The home is more private and tasteful than the pictures indicate. There are three different living areas so you can have your own space to hang out if you wish. I'm a cook and gave the small kitchen several workouts and it proved adequate on all fronts. Plus the view while you are searing the salmon! The long screened porch along the rear of the cottage is exceptional. While eating our breakfast or dinner out there we couldn't believe how lucky we were to have such a view. Though there are a handful of other homes on Davis Bay, never in 11 days did we see another person on the beach. There is another home available for rental on the property as well, but it is far enough away that you wouldn't hear them if they were out on their patio and you would need binoculars to see in windows. Speaking of that property, if you have a larger family or group of friends, getting both homes would be the way to do it. I won't go into all of the things to do/see on Lopez or the other islands, as they have been covered extensively by other reviewers. Just know everything you have read won't prepare you for the peace and beauty of this place. The owners were another unexpected pleasure, though they were generally only around on the weekends. They are world adventurers who delight in sharing their garden bounties, surprising you with homemade goodies, answering all questions re Lopez/San Juans, and just making your trip more special, easy and interesting. For the opportunity to reconnect with your loved ones and nature, you can't go wrong with Sea Spray cottage!"

  • A lovely house with heart

"This is a charming house in the woods with a modest view of the water and a lovely private beach a short walk away. There is a very friendly community living my on this part of the island and We felt welcomed. Friends from Seattle were succesful in catching crab for our last dinner and it was amazing crab. Crab licenses are easy to obtain and the folding crab trap will return for more crabbing in the years ahead. We have rented houses on Lopez for twenty years and this one has something special about it. I think it's all the loving detail of the wall colors, the fireplace in view of the large kitchen, the hearty geraniums surrounding the porch, the deer coming in to investigate the garden, the deck off the master bedroom, the lovely oriental rugs on the tile floors. We felt comfortable and we had a wonderful time cooking for friends and family. My family rented a much more modern house on the other side of the island and preferred Wren's House. There's everything you need for a memorable stay on Lopez."

  • Gorgeous Wedding Bunkhouse

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We needed to house 9 wedding guests and family. Island View was beautiful and contributed to the joy of the wedding celebration. Getting up early for the sunrise on the front deck, watching the Washngton State Ferrys slip through the nearby passage and the deer nibble their way across the yard were highlights. The kitchen was amply supplied with extras that simplified our meals away from the wedding gathering. The kids enjoyed the many, many games and puzzles and the adults spent quiet evenings spinning LPs from a huge collection. Very fun. The beach was a bit of a hike but worth the effort."
