  • Spectacular New Waterfront Estate

"We were the first family to rent this truly impressive waterfront estate since the owner finished having a new home built to replace an old cabin. The brand new main house is a large, elaborate, high-end custom "beach cottage" but it still has a comfortable and casual feeling. Set close to the water with a low bank near the southern end of White Point, the main house looks across Westcott Bay at Garrison Bay and Horseshoe Bay. It features stainless steel appliances in a gourmet kitchen with white marble counters, custom paneled walls painted in white gloss and stained beam ceilings, heated travertine floors and a steam shower in the master bath, a huge flat screen TV and a stereo system with built-in speakers throughout the house, folding NanaWall doors that open the house up to the outside, an outdoor entertainment area with contemporary wicker patio furniture set in decorative designer gravel, new landscaping with slate walkways, a beautiful new hardwood deck with gas fire-pit and a large Jacuzzi, and on and on... The matching guest house was built about 10 years earlier... Island deer, Blue Heron, sea otters, seals and Bald Eagles abound. Roche Harbor Resort, Spa and Marina is just a mile away. You will not be disappointed!"

  • Perfect!

"Our family of 4 just stayed at this property for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The home is older but well maintained. It was very clean, tidy and comfortable. There's plenty of room to spread out. The decks on the front and back of the home are a comfortable place to relax, play games or eat a meal. There were several deer that visited the property throughout the week included a pair of bucks. One advantage of this home is the location. It's close enough to town and shopping yet far enough away to be in the country. It's very peaceful. We saved ourselves quite a bit of money by eating most of our meals at the home. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware and dishes to make that possible. Overall we were very pleased and would rent here again."

  • What a view!

"This was our familyThanksgiving get together. Imagine cooking Thanksgiving dinner on a huge Viking range, with a gas fire in the fireplace when a pod of orcas swims by. Add a few Black Tailed deer, a couple of playful otters, a Bald Eagle or two, waves crashing on the rocks, the snow capped Olympics. The house was so warm and inviting, we really didn't want to leave."

  • Amazing views and tranquility

"We stayed for a week in early October, the views and tranquility of this place were awesome. The house is about a 20 minute drive from Friday Harbor and isn't hard to find as long as you don't let my wife navigate. The architecture of the house is certainly as described, a modern and interesting blend of craftsman meets the orient. The layout with the two masters on different levels is nice for multiple families, as in our case we were traveling with friends, three small children, and a dog. We put the kids off in the upstairs wing of the house and took that master and let our friends have their privacy downstairs. The steam shower in the upstairs master was a nice feature. We found a few things around the great room that we needed to move out of reach from the kids but generally very family friendly, and the gated part of the yard down and around from the deck also makes the place dog friendly as other reviewers have noted. The kitchen and BBQ were pretty well stocked with basics and great for prepping meals for seven, although some non-stick pots and pans would have made cleanups easier. Our kids loved looking at the deer from the big window seat and all enjoyed curling up there with a cup of coffee or a book to enjoy the view. Bit of a bummer that there was no TV anywhere in the common space to catch a football game, but it seems to be by design and we didn't really miss it. Overall a great time, but as another reviewer noted, some additional instructions about how to work things around the house like the fireplaces and hot tub would have been helpful as it is a modern house with a lot of buttons and switches and we weren't able to figure those things out. The hot tub never heated up, however the management couple did offer to come out to help, but we decided we'd rather just spend time alone than having people at the house working on things. Cell phone and internet service was also spotty at best, but hopefully that's not why you go to the San Juans. Overall a great place to stay."
