  • We LOVED it!

"The five of us (ages 2 to 68) were in absolute heaven. On day two of a visit a huge Orca whale almost joined us for coffee on the rocks directly behind the house. It was incredible. Five of the seven days we stayed here the Orcas (and a humpback) cruised back and forth behind the house making it really hard to care about going anywhere else or do anything but watch them. When the Orcas did give us a break we walked up the driveway picking blackberries for a pie, visited nearby beaches (where a fox decided to crash our picnic), and went for runs on the trails....all of which was wonderful...but the best was getting back to our San Juan Island "home." The house, the yard, and rocks behind the house were are favorite spots. Complete privacy with the perfect view. I'm keeping this review short as others have said it all so well - but, I did want to say ....after seeing the island and other spots to stay .....we could not have been happier with our choice to stay here and were sad to leave, Enjoy! Caveat : obviously, depending on the time of year you go and luck....I can't promise you Orcas watching like we experienced"

  • Great stay on San Juan!

"We stayed in this incredible home for four nights at the end of July. Everything was very clean and comfortable, but the view was outrageous! We had a little difficulty finding the house when we arrived after dark, but once we got in the door, we knew we had arrived! It's a little 80's, but quite luxurious. It was the perfect location for exploring the island. It's located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood where we saw black-tailed deer. There are orange-barked madrona trees lining the shore. The living area and kitchen (and the master bedroom) look out over the water and the sunsets are fabulous. The first morning we were there, we saw a mother and baby Orca out in front of the house. The house is walking distance to Snug Harbor where we went whale watching with Maya's Legacy (and saw two humpback whales!). We spent one day in Roche Harbor and another on Orcas enjoying Moran State Park and the Farmers' Market, before returning to this comfortable home. We had my birthday dinner (my Sweet Sixtieth!) of Dungeness Crab and prawns at the house. We were a little surprised at all the cleaning we were expected to do before leaving, including washing, drying, and folding all the towels and sheets, vacuuming, sanitizing the shower, etc.. There was a checklist, with an explanation that whatever the cleaning crew had to do , beyond one (or two?) hours of work, would be taken out of the deposit. Maybe if we hadn't done all of it (and we cleaned like crazy!), only a $50 fee would have been taken out, but maybe more (???) Karen was very helpful when I left a camera charger there; she mailed it back to Texas for me within a day of finding it. Overall, we would definitely recommend this wonderful place!"

  • A pleasant & wonderful unique experience !

"I instantly knew that i have make the right choice with the Dots house after a quick walk from the front to the backyard of the house. Wow is the word. From the peacefulness/tranquility of the front yard and the circular drive way to the splash of colors and meticulous decorations throughout the property, i was very much pleasantly impressed & enjoyed. Me and my family had a such wonderful stay. The property was clean & well maintained. And Judy was so nice and accommodating. Thank you."

  • Beautiful in every season

"We just enjoyed our second stay at this gem of a cottage. Having experienced it in December and August, we are now looking forward to more visits, as it was idyllic in both seasons. The views and location can't be beat. On colder days it is wonderful to be able to stay warm and cozy while still getting so much light (great windows!) and enjoy watching the water from next to the little gas fireplace. The property is very well maintained and well managed and has everything needed for a relaxing, comfortable stay, including complete kitchen ware and nice bedding. Highly recommended!"
