  • Great stay on San Juan!

"We stayed in this incredible home for four nights at the end of July. Everything was very clean and comfortable, but the view was outrageous! We had a little difficulty finding the house when we arrived after dark, but once we got in the door, we knew we had arrived! It's a little 80's, but quite luxurious. It was the perfect location for exploring the island. It's located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood where we saw black-tailed deer. There are orange-barked madrona trees lining the shore. The living area and kitchen (and the master bedroom) look out over the water and the sunsets are fabulous. The first morning we were there, we saw a mother and baby Orca out in front of the house. The house is walking distance to Snug Harbor where we went whale watching with Maya's Legacy (and saw two humpback whales!). We spent one day in Roche Harbor and another on Orcas enjoying Moran State Park and the Farmers' Market, before returning to this comfortable home. We had my birthday dinner (my Sweet Sixtieth!) of Dungeness Crab and prawns at the house. We were a little surprised at all the cleaning we were expected to do before leaving, including washing, drying, and folding all the towels and sheets, vacuuming, sanitizing the shower, etc.. There was a checklist, with an explanation that whatever the cleaning crew had to do , beyond one (or two?) hours of work, would be taken out of the deposit. Maybe if we hadn't done all of it (and we cleaned like crazy!), only a $50 fee would have been taken out, but maybe more (???) Karen was very helpful when I left a camera charger there; she mailed it back to Texas for me within a day of finding it. Overall, we would definitely recommend this wonderful place!"

  • Relaxed place to gather

"We celebrated three 5Oth birthdays during our stay. This property comfortably accommodated seven adults, allowing for both comfortable public space to share and private quarters in which to retreat. The kitchen is well appointed for summer cooking and dining on the deck while taking in the view of sunsets over Mitchell Bay was delightful."

  • Excellent Stay. Close to everything!

"We stayed here for 2 nights and were very pleased with our stay. The condo is close to everything and has a beautiful view. The bed is very comfortable and this is a condo to stay at if you want a relaxing trip. Also, use Maya Whale Watching tour. This came highly recommended and we really enjoyed it."

  • Simply beautiful!

"We stayed at HARO HAIKU for 7 nights... my only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer. The home is absolutely wonderful! I always get a bit nervous when a VRBO property has a perfect 5 star score with not even a negative comment. After our stay I have to agree with all of the other reviewers. Not only do I give 5 stars to the house, but 5 stars for the view, 5 stars for the location and 5 stars to San Juan Island! Stephanie and Jack are superb hosts, their years of experience in the hospitality industry shine. Final note: Almost daily we saw Orcas from the deck. One day we even saw a couple of Humpback Whales swim by. For up close views from shore be sure to drive to Lime Kiln park or the pull offs along the way."
