Cozy accomodations and so serene!
"First my apologies for getting this review posted so late. We stayed here for our 25th Anniversary and was looking for a place away from the tourism and we found it here! Funny I should say that being that we were tourists coming from a tourist town in Leavenworth. South point out in the National Park was a dream come true. Our first morning we woke to a stunning sunrise of pinks and oranges, with a rainbow to boot. We were greeted by a little grey/black fox that came all the way up to the deck to say HELLO. Walked out to the lighthouse and as we cut through the grassy trails came across many black tail deer and a 2 point buck that wanted his picture taken as well. Arrived at the Lighthouse monument to find the biggest Eagle I have ever seen, and we get a lot of them on our side of the mountain. He sat up on the railing of the lighthouse and let us take close up pics as if to say I am the ruler of this roost! Views from the bluff were stunning all the way around and we even snapped a couple of pics of a seal and blue heron down below. This was all our first morning there! Kristine recommended a great whale watch outfit out of Roche/Snug Harbor and they did not disappoint! The weather was absolutely perfect and the water was like glass. We were fortunate enough to follow a transient pod around which consisted of two momma's and three of their calves. We watched them play, eat seals :(, breach, moonwalk, harass the stellar sea lions, and also nurse! I have the best pictures ever and I owe Kristine a big thank you for that!! We did not hear any noises from Kristine or her adorable fur baby and the cottage was very quaint and cozy. Not much of a kitchen as described, but she left us wonderful things for us to enjoy. The bed I thought was comfy and I could have laid there all morning, except I was in such a hurry to see as much of the island as possible. I did not leave a stone unturned! Thank you so much for sharing a piece of heaven with us! We will be back!"
