  • Magical!

"After 18 years together we finally tied the knot, and we chose the Haro Haiku for our honeymoon getaway. We could not have been more pleased and feel that 5 stars may not be quite enough to express how much we loved this property! After a year of planning and executing a large and elaborate wedding we needed to recharge our batteries and recenter ourselves. This location was exactly what we needed! The home is beautiful and peaceful and the location is magical. After a meandering drive off the main coastal road you reach the driveway that winds down to the house which is tucked away from the world in the heart of the west coast of the island. We spent our mornings sipping coffee listening to and watching the birds, and then twice we were able to listen to and watch the whales from the deck for hours at a time. Yep, just sitting in comfy chairs in our PJs watching whales in their natural habitat without disturbing or disrupting them. We were also able to watch whales at the Wildlife Preserve just up the coast. We ate breakfast at the table on the deck, and had glorious seafood feasts at the bar in the kitchen. We spent the majority of our days beach combing, visiting lighthouses, watching wildlife around the island and going on excursions. We gratefully returned to the Haro Haiku each night feeling lucky to have such a beautiful place to call home during our visit. In the evenings we played games found in the entry closet at the dining room table with a view of the night time ocean, and woke up each morning to the peaceful view of the Olympic mountains and Haro straight. The beds are fantastic, and I may be buying a new mattress after sleeping on the Tuft & Needle in the master bedroom! Before making the reservation I had hesitations about the property owner being on site, but it was a complete non-issue. I met Stephanie one morning at her residence and she was delightful. She and her husband are nearby if you need them, but while at the property you do not feel as though you are being supervised in any way. I can not wait to return to this property to enjoy the island again with my family. My husband wrote a haiku in honor of our stay... The serenity Days and nights filled with beauty Our souls have been cleansed"

  • Perfect long weekend on Lummi

"As other reviewers have confirmed Golden Hours 2 is the perfect place to enjoy a week or weekend on Lummi. Short drive from ferry dock, super clean and plenty of room both inside and out to host a full house of guests. Shared the home with another family and we all had a great time. Kids loved the beach and yard games at this well equipped home. Kitchen has all the amenities of home and we didn't lack for anything. We will be back again. Garrett is a great host and was very responsive to all our questions and requests. There was a burn ban in place the entire weekend we visitied and Garrett bought and delivered a propane fire pit insert so the kids could roast marshmallows."

  • What a great place to stay!

"This cabin was one of the most comfortable places we have stayed in the area. The cabin was delightfully decorated and clean and well stocked with everything you would need. The bed is the best we have ever slept on in a vacation rental. The shower was great, also, with nice big towels. We had fun cooking in the kitchen using the products we bought at the lovely produce stands. The view is exceptional. The stars at night are consuming and we even saw a shooting star. The nights are quiet and peaceful. We were a little worried because we stayed during a heat wave with temps in the 90s, but the house had a nice breeze and we were adequately cool without even turning on the fan. We loved listening to the birds and watching the herons fishing in the early morning low tides. This is a great place to vacation and we will be back!"

  • Great little house!

"We were pleasantly surprised by this cottage. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere yet are 10-15 minutes from just about anything you could want: Walmart, Costco, waterfalls, Starbucks, Safeway, fast food, etc. The owner has made this place a wonderful getaway and it is very well appointed (we forgot q tips and found some in the cabinet...thank you for thinking of the little things!). The loft bedroom is great for older kids and teens and those places really quite spacious in general. If there was one improvement I would make it would be to change out the bathroom and master bedroom doors or at least to cover them with an opaque material rather than sheets. They look nice but there is no privacy in the master bedroom or main bathroom. We happened to have an over the door hanger in our car so we made a quick fix using that and an extra set of sheets in the closet and it worked just fine for us. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. We met the owner a few times and she is pleasant and great to work with too. She made sure we were very well informed prior to our arrival."
