  • Beautiful week on Lopez

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this house! The location is ideal. It is close enough to Lopez Village to bike there easily, and Spencer Spit is only a mile away. The huge lawn with a view of the sound is awesome for playing games like badminton and volleyball! We brought our dog with and were happy to find out that there is also a fenced in area for your dog to run around a bit while you are home. The kitchen is awesome, with really beautiful appliances - especially for a rental. There are so many games to play, and puzzles to work on that you don't need to bring your own. The walk to the beach is very short, and although it is steep but we had no problem getting our kayaks down. You will see deer in the early morning and evenings. Also, a blue heron likes to sit down by the waters edge. Seals were spotted too! The beds are comfortable and it is very quiet at night here. The only thing that I would recommend for the owner if they plan on renovating in the future is that it would be great if there was one more bathroom, preferably not attached to a bedroom. Right where the game room is now would be ideal! We would definitely stay here again."

  • Perfection!

"Stayed for a very quick two night getaway. I have rented many homes and this home is everything I love in a vacation rental. Immaculate, comfortable and amazing views. I love to be able to get to a home and feel comfortable right away. The outdoor living space is spectacular. The bald eagles and the deer were amazing to watch. Marcie was so easy to deal with from the start. I Had a very small problem when we got there and she was available by phone immediately and we had it solved right away. I just wish I didn't live so far away so I could spend more time at this fabulous place!!"

  • Cute house very comfortable close to Eastsound.

"We enjoyed staying at the Huckleberry house for 4 days. It was close to everything. The house had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the morning and evening. The only draw back from that is the house is up from the main road and it can get noisy. Overall we would stay here again. • Amazing views and tranquility

"We stayed for a week in early October, the views and tranquility of this place were awesome. The house is about a 20 minute drive from Friday Harbor and isn't hard to find as long as you don't let my wife navigate. The architecture of the house is certainly as described, a modern and interesting blend of craftsman meets the orient. The layout with the two masters on different levels is nice for multiple families, as in our case we were traveling with friends, three small children, and a dog. We put the kids off in the upstairs wing of the house and took that master and let our friends have their privacy downstairs. The steam shower in the upstairs master was a nice feature. We found a few things around the great room that we needed to move out of reach from the kids but generally very family friendly, and the gated part of the yard down and around from the deck also makes the place dog friendly as other reviewers have noted. The kitchen and BBQ were pretty well stocked with basics and great for prepping meals for seven, although some non-stick pots and pans would have made cleanups easier. Our kids loved looking at the deer from the big window seat and all enjoyed curling up there with a cup of coffee or a book to enjoy the view. Bit of a bummer that there was no TV anywhere in the common space to catch a football game, but it seems to be by design and we didn't really miss it. Overall a great time, but as another reviewer noted, some additional instructions about how to work things around the house like the fireplaces and hot tub would have been helpful as it is a modern house with a lot of buttons and switches and we weren't able to figure those things out. The hot tub never heated up, however the management couple did offer to come out to help, but we decided we'd rather just spend time alone than having people at the house working on things. Cell phone and internet service was also spotty at best, but hopefully that's not why you go to the San Juans. Overall a great place to stay."
