  • Family vacation

"Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The best thing about this rental is the view. The nightime view is exceptional. The Space Needle is right outside the windows of 2 of the bedrooms. On good days, the Cascades are gorgeous. The unit is older and in need of some work. The garbage disposal did not work and we found most of the vertical blinds to be difficult to open and close with missing or broken blinds. There is a plexiglass panel which fits into one of the glass doors to vent the air conditioning unit. This is ill fitting and on one windy night there was a breeze coming in that moved the blinds. The electric heat is very drying so bring plenty of skin cream! Furniture needs cleaning, replacement or recovering. Place was generally clean however some things like the light fixture above the table and the tops of some surfaces needed a good cleaning. There was enough dust to write your name in on one of the headboards. All that being said, the views were gorgeous and the place was plenty big enough for our family of 6 to stay in and for more day visitors."

  • Darling Romantic Beachfront Getaway

"We had a wonderful 4 night stay at this property. The property is in a gorgeous neighborhood. The owner, Roberta was friendly and helpful. Her house is at the top of the stairs which lead down to the beach house. The house was spotless and had a lovely deck to sit and watch the sunsets with the water lapping at the shore beneath the deck when the tide was in. There were seals in the water swimming by and they were fun to watch. A recent storm had broken the ladder leading down to the water, so we were unfortunately not able to try the kayaks. There are two flights of narrow stairs leading down to the house, so I would not recommend it for anyone who can't negotiate stairs, but it was no problem for us. The property is one block from the Brown's Point Lighthouse where there is a nice park where you can get to the water. The beach is made of large pebbles, not sandy, so it was nice to have the paths there to walk on. We met the lady from the historical society who gave us a tour of the lighthouse-keepers cottage. It was very entertaining and she was very nice and welcoming. Gig Harbor was a short drive (20 minutes) where we spent a nice day riding the trolley, shopping and having lunch. We went to Point Defiance Park which was beautiful and had dinner at Anthony's there. Downtown Seattle was about a 40 min drive. There is a market and a neighborhood diner just around the corner. The Brown's Point Diner had good hamburgers and eggs Benedict for breakfast. We cooked a few breakfasts for ourselves. I would definitely recommend this property to a couple for a romantic getaway. There are two bedrooms, but the living room is small for more than two people. I would definitely go back again if we were to revisit the area."

  • Awesome

"Wonderful location with lots of amenities. We enjoyed a very relaxing and peaceful stay which included a walk in the woods to a stunning waterfall and many hours in the hot tub on the deck. From playing cards in the solarium to watching the latest Star Wars on the ample TV and sleeping in luxurious accommodations everything was fully enjoyed. The cooks kitchen and awesome bathrooms. Well we just recommend The Watcom Retreat for your next gathering. Enjoy! P.S. The owners are great!"

  • Great stay!

"I really loved the open bottom floor, and that we were provided with more than enough wood to keep a healthy fire going whenever need be. The owners were very kind in our communications both before and after our stay. Would recommend to friends!"
