  • Warm and comfortable

"This is a beautifully decorated, warm, welcoming, and well maintained very well equipped house. Everything you need is provided to the last detail - all the cookware and dishes you could ever need, even little plastic bags to store left over food. Beds were very comfortable with nice fluffy pillows. Plenty of hot water and excellent heating system in the house, plus a romantic gas fireplace. Also, hot tub is adjustable so you can have it at your desired temperature. The owner provided excellent detailed instructions. Wifi and free phone ( inside US) were also provided since phone reception is sketchy depending on your server. All in all, a wonderful house to relax in after a day of hiking or skiing. Would love to come back next year."

  • Great cabin!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this super sweet cabin! It is just so cute and comfortable. We felt very much at home! The cabin is in a little neighborhood of other cabins. It's a nice walk down to a creek that feeds into the Cowlitz River. Our 9 year old son loved exploring down there. Plus, it's only a 10 minute drive to Mt. Rainier National Park, which is spectacular! The cabin is just outside of Packwood, which has a few restaurants to choose from and a grocery store if you want to cook at the cabin. Every night we would see elk grazing as we drove into town. The cabin has everything you need for your stay. They even provide laundry detergent for the washer. It also has a great hot tub! You do hear some road noise outside the cabin, but it wasn't at all bothersome. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Jan, one morning as we walked down to the river. She is super nice and her and her husband were very responsive. We would definitely recommend this cabin!"

  • Great weekend vacation

"We met with 2 families over the weekend at this wonderful house - total 6 adults and 4 children under age 6. Everything was immaculate, and we had plenty of room in this spacious home. Lynda was always very easy to get a hold of and provided a wonderfully stocked kitchen with smores fixings, firewood, bottled water, a spice rack, and pancake/waffle batter. We enjoyed watching movies from their huge DVD collection and playing board games from their vast supply. Couldn't have asked for more!"

  • Perfect retreat, convenient to Rainier National Park!

"We loved our stay at the Stargazer Retreat! It was perfectly located close to the entrance of the national park. Additionally, Paul is an incredibly welcoming host, he went above and beyond in terms of helping us plan our time in the area from hiking to food options to what we needed to pack. Furthermore, the cabin is chock-full of extras (like dispensers in the showers, tons of DVDs, wood for the fire pit) to make time there stress free and incredibly easy to plan. We loved the space with all the custom furniture, the hot tub was amazing for post-hike sore muscles and the setting with the stream right outside was incredibly peaceful. We got to enjoy deer in the neighborhood each morning! Although, we usually camp when we travel, it was nice to be able to feel like we had the fun of camping with the fire pit with the amenities of staying in someone's well cared for space. Additionally since we were traveling with parents who are excited about experiencing nature but less so from a tent, this was a perfect compromise. We would recommend this space to everyone! Anyone looking to explore Rainier National Park would love this well maintained, well thought out space and could benefit from Paul's care in hosting and his expertise about the area to optimize your time in the area."
