  • Superlative Lake Home Not Far From Seattle

"Our family of 12 adults and 3 kids stayed here for 10 days. This house has something for everyone. The home is gorgeous, well designed, tastefully decorated, warm and welcoming. It has a perfect layout for large groups with a wonderful open kitchen/dining room/living room with large fireplace and plenty of seating. The kitchen is a cook's paradise, and easily accommodates several cooks, with lots of storage, and very nice appliances. There are plenty of spaces to retreat, as well, both inside and out. The media room was (unfortunately!) well used during our stay, because it was quite rainy. But that room was a great place for kids to play (with toys provided by the owners, including--big hit with one of our family members: Thomas trains and tracks), and watch t.v., or for adults to watch t.v. without having the t.v. dominate other activities. There is also a ping pong table in the garage that saw a lot of action during our stay. The sport court is fantastic. We had several lively pickle ball games, as well as basketball, and there were plenty of trikes for the kids to ride around on the paved court. There are also tons of beach toys for kids to use in the sand, and a trampoline island to swim to in the Lake. The Lake is clean, clear, surprisingly warm water (for those of us used to icy northwest lakes!). There's also a charming little stream on the property that was especially attractive to our toddler. There is ample seating inside and out for guests of all ages. The covered portion of the deck was especially nice on rainy days. We used the separate little cabin, which is very accessible (one step up), and quite handy for someone who has difficulty with stairs. The upstairs bunk room is so comfortable for kids--a great play area, with plenty of space to spread out, and separate enough from the rest of the house. It also has its own bathroom. The master bedroom/bath also has a small deck that overlooks the lake. All of the other bedrooms are spacious, with plenty of storage space and very nicely decorated and maintained. The laundry room upstairs is very handy, modern and easy to use. The house is so well equipped in every respect--kitchen, bedrooms, everything you need is there! And, for tall people (our family has 2 over 6'5") the showers, doors, and ceilings gave them the space they loved! It's obvious that the owners put a lot of thought and a lot of love into this property. I can't recommend it highly enough. It really is a premier property."

  • So Cool!

"Outstanding property and owners. Just a great experience in a very cool cabin. It is very apparent that a lot of heart and effort went into the updating and decorating of the 1930's cabin. Very well equipped, well maintained, owners were very organized and great to deal with. Mooring buoy was well maintained with a new chain. We are recommending these cabins to friends and expect to return again for kayaking and crabbing. So nice to have a great VRBO experience on Hood Canal........the location and charm of the cabins and cove will be bringing us back."

  • Beautiful, Just Beautiful!

"This property was even better than described. Beautiful location in the forest overlooking the inlet where we saw eagles, herons, seal and more daily, and where the children adored fishing and playing in the cove. This was without doubt the BEST equipped vacation home we have ever stayed in, and we have been all over. Vicki and Salim have thought of every possible item and included it...and more! It was clean and comfortable a definate A+ and Vicki was a fast and responsive owner who gave us all the local info we needed prior to our stay and had even designed a local walking tour for her guests to ensure they dont miss a thing in Olympia. The location was great for accessing Olympia and surrounding area, must visit the farmers market for local organic produce, and Gardners restaurant for a delicious locally sourced meal. Also easy driving distance for day trips to Portland (International Rose Garden)and Seattle (Pikes Place Market), Astoria, Oregon over the 4 mile bridge where we saw Orca and even up to Forks and the beautifully wild Ruby Beach (Twilight fame lol). I would say it would be difficult to find a better vacation home for your visit to the Olympia than Cedars on the Sound! Recommend this place to anyone and would love to stay again when we are back in the area! Thanks Vicki and Salim!"

  • Fantastic in every way

"Can't understate how wonderful this stay way. Right in the middle of everything Seattle, an easy walk to Pikes Place Market or Capital Hill resturaunts, everything was right there. Using the Freeway Park to walk above the city street traffic was wonderful! The condo itself was great. Quiet, clean, and convenient. Basic ammenities for cooking and convenience. We brought groceries in and cooked a lot for ease and savings. The check in process easy, and Rachel and Grace were totally easy to reach and work with. Make sure to book parking ahead of time. Street parking can get expensive. We will totally stay here again next time we're up in the area. Thank you!!!"
