  • Wonderful experience in Harpers Ferry

"This was a terrific place to stay - right in the heart of historic Harpers Ferry. The house is spacious, has lots of thoughtful details and accessories. Check-in and out is super easy. The home fits the part, with subtle creaks and tons of character. It is also awesome to have 2 parking spaces come along with the rental - you really do need that!! The house is very very close to a busy train line (and the trains make mandatory warning sounds as we found out - 4-5 per train!) as previous renters have stated. Keep that in mind - the trains come through all hours of the day and night. Again, that is part of the charm and character, and for some makes no difference at all, while for others they need to be prepared for this to take place. For us, we were there and the noise from the AC window units helped dim the sounds of the trains outside. Harpers Ferry of course has the amazing NHP, and is close to Antetiam for history buffs. We found out the food in Shepardstown is amazing (check out the Press Room). Thank you Jill for being such a wonderful hostess!"

  • A superb home-base

"We recently visited the area to explore the Antietam National Battlefield and ride the C&O canal tow path. This was a comfortable and convenient base of operations for our stay. Both the Antietam Battlefield and tow path access are just minutes away. We were out of the house way more than at it, but found it quite comfortable, quiet, and a delightful place to stay. Morning coffee on the porch, before heading out on our day's mission, was a great way to start the day. And though we never cooked meals there, the kitchen was well appointed to do so. Nutters ice cream is a short walk, Burkholders Baked Goods is in town and worth a visit for a little "something sweet" to start the day, and just across the river in Sheperdstown are as many dining choices as you could ask for. We also took the train into DC for a day, - plenty of parking at the Brunswick train station, and only about a 20 minute drive. A delightful area to explore - and this is a fine place to stay smack dab in the middle of it all!"

  • Excellent Place to Stay!

"We (4 adults, 1 toddler) had a lovely time staying here. The views are amazing, the location is great, close enough to so many sites - Harpers Ferry, the battlefields, etc, yet out in the countryside to have a private feel. Brian and Sandy were great to communicate with, extremely responsive and very helpful. The house itself was very comfortable and well stocked. I highly recommend this cabin!"
