  • quiet and very relaxing

"We had a WONDERFUL time. The cabin was everything we could have hoped it would be. Its off-the-beaten-path was especially pleasant for us. We did lots of reading and sleeping. We came off the heels of two VERY hectic weeks, so it was also very good to have all that peace and quiet! The cabin was well-furnished in every way. All we needed was food and clothes, and our own personal reading materials. Only one thing I could have wished for was a recliner, but the rocking chair was a nice substitute. These three ladies have made for a cabin that you don't want to leave. Our five days went extremely fast :(. The listing was everything it said it would be, and directions made it very easy to find. True, there is no wifi and no Verizon cell phone service, but the cabin was very clean and well-maintained, and we had excellent customer service. In fact, being technilogically challenged as we are, we needed help with getting switched from the TV to DVD player. We actually had assistance from four people to show us how to do it! They were definitely attentive. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who enjoys a remote setting. (It is about 15 miles one way from the nearest town.) We drove the Smoke Hole Road, visited the campgrounds along the road, and really enjoyed the scenery, stark as it was in late December. We actually saw more of the rock cliffs than if we had been there when leaves were on the trees. We ate in local (Franklin) restaurants three times in our five days: Fireside Cafe was our favorite, although we tried to eat at the Star Hotel and Restaurant two different times--but it was closed. We finally ate at Star for lunch our last day. We also ate at Fox's Den, having their pizza (when we intended to eat at Star the second time), which was very good. We enjoyed driving around Franklin to see the town, which is well kept and quaint. Bruce and Nancy Head"

  • Size & appearance - WONDERFUL!

"The size of the rooms are great & just enough space for a large family or several couples! The owner has done a great job with decorations, living room couch is wore out. Still a wonderful location & on a relaxing bubbling Brook! 😉"
