  • Winter Weekend in Lost River

"I recently spent the weekend with my fiancée and dog at Derek's lovely home in Lost River. We had a wonderful stay, and both commented upon leaving that we wish we had booked extra nights! The cabin was beautifully decorated and had everything you could want in a mountain home: gorgeous views, a wrap around porch with a grill and fire pit, full equipped kitchen and peace and quiet. We didn't even leave the cabin all weekend, aside from taking our pup on some mountain walks. Highly recommended if you are looking for a weekend away!"

  • True Getaway!

"I got my birthday wish ... a "cabin" getaway with a massive stone fireplace in the hills of West Virginia where my partner and I could exhale 2016 and inhale 2017. From the moment we walked into the massive two story open family room with the wall of windows overlooking the Lost River and the stone wall with the 4’ wide fireplace, we knew this was place for us. The yard is full of rock sculptures and various creative artifacts welcoming you to the cabin. Kitchen is equipped with all the tools you need to cook. If you're looking for a true "get away" to unhook from the digital world of cell phones, internet, TV, and to reengage with yourself, significant other and/or family – then this is the place. The owner and property manager were absolutely lovely to work with!"

  • A beautiful mountain getaway

"It was a delight to stay in the Slate Hill Schoolhouse! I have nothing but praise to offer about the experience from start to finish. Keith was a pleasure to work with from the get go. He responded promptly and was able to answer all of my questions. The house is charming! The kitchen is well appointed, the rooms are tastefully decorated, the beds are comfortable, and the front porch has an unbeatable view of the surrounding countryside. We'll certainly be coming back when we need to get away from the city in the future. Thanks so much for a wonderful weekend, Keith!"
