  • Cute, cozy, and comfortable

"We stayed at River Rock Cottage from Dec. 26-30, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! When we arrived, there were Christmas lights on the front porch and inside were 3 cute Christmas trees! I'd read previous reviews that talked about all the food, and they were right! There were Christmas cookies, a basket of breakfast and snack foods, fresh fruit, and the refrigerator was stocked with everything we could possibly need and then some! The beds were very comfortable, although our 21 year old son chose to sleep on the huge couch in the den because at 6'5", the beds were a little too short for him! Peggy left information for everything we might need during our stay, and she responded immediately to my texts. We'd never stayed in an older house like this, so we really enjoyed it. The one and only thing I'd love to have changed is to have a bathroom upstairs too, but we were warned in advance that there was only one and it was downstairs. It wasn't a problem at all, and there were even supplies in the bathroom in case we'd forgotten anything. We had a great time and will definitely stay here again!"

  • Wonderful Spot for a Family Reunion

"Twenty adults (ages 74-21) and 10 children (ages 7 yrs-4 weeks) gathered at Three Otters for a much needed family reunion. We were warmly welcomed by Teresa and Rich. The variety of accommodations fit the needs of the group perfectly from the cabin for the 3 mothers with young babes, to the yurt for the eldest. We shared the cooking tasks among the families and used the river kitchen and grill kitchen to the fullest extent. I think the favorite spot for everyone was at the water's edge or in the Potomac River. Though not everyone could stay the three nights the consensus was we must return next year. Everything we needed was there. No need to get in the car to go see this or that. It is a lovely spot, away for the world with a chance to reconnect with family and nature."
