  • Perfect mountain retreat - year round!

"We are repeat customers of the Owl's Nest and have loved both summer and winter stays. It's convenient to everything the area has to offer from Snowshoe to Cass Mountain Railroad to the Greenbrier Trail to the National Radio Observatory. The setting truly makes it seem like a mountain retreat yet you're just minutes from the convenience store and the base of Snowshoe mountain. Our family always looks forward to our time in this very comfortable and roomy cabin which definitely beats a condo! The beds are comfortable, the family room has plenty of seating (3 nice sofas), and the dining table is large enough for everyone. The views from the loft bedroom and the outdoor decks are incredible - you can see Cupp Run at Snowshoe! There is nothing like coming back to the Owl's Nest after a long a cold day on the slopes and sinking into your private hot tub while stargazing!"

  • Weekend trip

"Made a late fall trip up to Snowshoe and decided to stay up top at Mountain Lodge. Located this unit thru VRBO for the weekend. It worked perfect for us and so glad we decided to stay in this condo. Kitchen had just been remodeled and really liked the new appliances! Parking is great since lot is right outside and unit is on first floor so easy access in and out for activities. Owner was easy to work with and made sure we had all the info for our trip. Will be back for the winter! Thanks"

  • Beautiful

"The house is beautifully maintained. Everything you need is there for you. No need to travel with extras because the owner has already thought of it. It is a great place to relax. Drinks by the poolside are a must. It is also a wonderful "home" base for day trips. Much to do. Harpers Ferry and all things historical. Frederick, Maryland was a beautiful walking town only about 1/2 hour away. Shops, antiques, restaurants and of course history. And don't forget D.C. It is a little farther but not too far for a day trip."

  • Amazing Place to Stay

"I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in a mountain getaway. The Scene: The cabin is nestled in the mountains in a remote, peaceful area. There are stores and restaurants down the road but nothing crazy. The scenery is absurdly beautiful and folks are very friendly. The House: What a great place to have stayed! My boyfriend and I stayed with another couple and there was plenty of room. The house was very clean and had everything you could possibly think of in it. Very spacious, comfortable and cozy feel to it. Tons of outlets, cookware, TVs-- just great. There's also this great bar in the kitchen where plenty of people can gather around and we stayed around it any time we were in the house. It's a great place to hang out for laughs and conversation. The hot tub was also very clean, private and well maintained. It was such a positive experience and Billy is extremely friendly and personable. Both my boyfriend and I had interacted with him and he was excellent at responding and very accommodating and trust worthy. Would definitely recommend for anyone, first timers or otherwise, it's a great place to stay. We're already talking about planning another trip !"
