  • Perfect Getaway, with Great Charm and Character

"First, off Suzanne was amazing to deal with! She was quick to respond and very helpful about what the vicinity had to offer! We loved the layout of the home. The breakfast nook was great, it offered a well lit area anytime of the day. The home had everything we needed and we enjoyed every amenity it offered! The location was perfect for the hiking and exploring that we planned for our extended weekend. We hope to get back sometime again this year and hope to again reserve this gem in the mountains! Thank you :)"

  • A great stay and a very accommodating host!

"This unit was in the perfect location, especially for having my sister's wedding right there in the Mountain Lodge. The place has nice fixtures and looks like it has been remodeled which was perfect for taking pictures as we were all getting ready for the wedding. The shower gets nice and hot with great water pressure. The view was beautiful with the lift and mountainside right out the back patio. Tim was great to work with. He was easy to get a hold of, very accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. He even made sure there was a blender, crockpot and 9 x 13 baking dish for us to use which was very helpful as we cooked the whole time we were there. The price was excellent for the value too! I would highly recommend this unit and working with Tim."

  • Quiet and solitude

"This home is lovely and spacious and the location is superb-on top of the mountain with access to the forest right across the drive. Our few days there were peaceful. Blackwater Falls was worth the 20 minute drive and the trek up and down the steps. If you enjoy hiking or just sitting on the deck enjoying the forest that surround you, this is the home for you."

  • Anniversary Weeken

"We were looking to get away and celebrate our one year anniversary and the Black Bear Chalet was the right place. When we arrived we found the cabin to be in excellent shape, and everything in its place. The instructions were easy to follow and we didn't have to waste anytime before turning off our phones and not touching them again until we left. The porch was a great place to enjoy meals and watch the birds. The property was large enough to explore and find some spots to sit and soak in the surroundings. Other than some cars going past, we didn't see anyone else and that's exactly what we we wanted. All correspondence with the Webers was prompt and courteous. They provided detailed instructions regarding the cabin and things to do in the surrounding area. We didn't venture out on this trip by design - other than the Paw Paw Tunnel on the way home - but next time we plan to take advantage of their suggestions of things to see and places to go. We definitely want to return before too long to unplug and recharge. The only thing we'd do differently is maybe add an extra day."
