  • Girl's Weekend

"This was an excellent place for a relaxing girls weekend. There were 2 restaurants/bars that we could walk to. One of which had live entertainment on the weekend. Would definitely come back."

  • Great Accomodations for a large group!

"Three families shared the Machine Shed for a ski weekend at Granite Peak. Elaine was very helpful in answering all of my questions before we arrived. The layout of the place was perfect, and the house was very clean. Each couple got their own room and bathroom and the kids had their own wing and bathroom. The main living space is huge. It was to have the big space because we had different small groups doing different things - some played pool, some played Xbox, some played games, and others just sat and talked. Even though we were all in the same space, it never seemed loud - just very cozy! Also, we actually sat all 15 of us for dinner at the same time. We will definitely be back next year! The kids all want to come back in the summer too so they can explore the grounds more! Thanks for a great weekend!"

  • Quaint, cozy - great location!

"Stayed with teenage kids, quick, short family getaway before school starts. Unlike other postings we all found the beds to be comfy. The location of this little house cannot be beat! Lots to do in the area, lots to see and eat, and drink at. No evening fires! That is probably the only negative, once you arrive at the home you can see why the owners say NO fires. I would say that this little home probably sleeps 5 better than six. A small kid, under 9 years old, would fit just fine on the couch if you use that as a bed. The futon was comfortable, BECAUSE it is a futon, we brought with a thick cushy sleeping bag we have along, and used it as a "mattress" on top of the futon, husband slept there, and slept like a baby (and he is the biggest complainer), The owners provide everything you need. We couldn't find any towels the first 1 1/2 days, but then realized they were in the hamper in the bathroom. Everything you need is in the kitchen to prepare a meal. The value and location of this little home makes it worth checking out. It is a GREAT LITTLE HOME. Do not expect some grand Hilton hotel experience, if you want that, go somewhere else, but if you are just fine with a cozy, comfy, tiny little home, furniture comfy hand me down type stuff, this is the place for you! There is a TV, satellite TV and there is an air conditioning unit that does a great job cooling off this little home. Oh! there is very little cell reception in most of the area - just so you know. This home is super close to the river, walk there in under 1 minute. You cannot step foot on any of the docks there, they are owned by others, so don't even try. There are many boat rental places nearby - two just across the street from this home. RENT A BOAT OR PONTOON - YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY. I would bring extra towels of your own to take to the beach or on a boat ride. Other than that, I would recommend this home to anyone that needs a small getaway and you have a smaller budget like us."

  • Perfect Retreat!

"We stayed here for a Girl's Weekend. Comfortably, we had more than enough space for 11 women to sprawl out and enjoy their get-a-way. The beds were all comfortable and the common areas were clean and well kept. Our weather did not cooperate so the outdoor space we were looking forward to utilizing did happen. However, there is more than enough space to spread out indoors. We did enjoy a lake walk and took in some of the local bars. The horseback riding nearby was a great option on a cooler day as well. There is no WiFi in these forests, but the connection you get in return is far greater!"
