  • Charming and cozy getaway

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach House. It was clean and comfortable and you cannot beat the location. The beach is lovely to walk on and you can see sunrise and sunset from this spot."

  • Relaxing Kangaroo Lake retreat

"Our family of 4 (with two kids ages 8 and 11), stayed here in July 2016. The cottage is clean and beautiful. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, which surprised me since the description only says 1 bath. The lake is lovely and the location is perfect for seeing all of Door County -- nothing is far. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and kayaking in the lake. Although small, the cottage has all the amenities you could want with the exception of air conditioning. We happened to be there on 2 of the hottest and most humid days and nights of the year. We spent those hot days away from the cottage or in the lake, but at night it was so hot that it was difficult to sleep (and the only reason for my 4 star review). However, I would not hesitate to stay here again during a cooler season. The neighbors were friendly, and we were surprised to find an area for our kids to run around and play catch."

  • Utterly Charming

"We spent three days at Cappy Cottage and loved every minute. The location cannot be beat -- you have privacy anc quiet, but excellent restaurants, bakeries, shopping and touristy stuff (we loved the drive-in movie in Ephraim) are only minutes away. The cabin itself is adorable, with lovely decor, comfy beds and couches, toys for the kids and gorgeous views of the woods and lake. Please keep in mind that this cabin is a lovingly cared-for family treasure, so you won't have the air-conditioning, wifi and dishwasher that you may depend on at home -- that is part of the simplicity and charm of this very special place."

  • Lovely lake, lovely house

"We stayed at this kangaroo lake house in August 2016 - It was our first trip to door county. We weren't sure what to expect but were so happy we stayed on the "qiet" side of the lake. The home has an incredible view to the water, and the water is soft and sandy and shallow. We brought our paddle boards and we all enjoyed paddle boarding all over the lake - It's very quiet. I think we only heard one or two boats all week! The fire pit is beautifully situated, and we had a great time star gazing and caught the persied meteor shower!!! The home itself is lovely - there is a large well equipped kitchen. We ate many of our meals out on the deck which has a big picnic table that could accommodate all of us. We used the bikes and the canoe that were available which was a very nice convenience to have. We also put together MANY of the puzzles and played lots of games (and watched the olympics on the wide screen tv.) . Best of all you are just a quick jaunt to the beautiful beaches and all the restaurants on the other side of thepeninsula! There is so much to do in door county and we found this quiet lovely lake house to be the prefect place to land after a busy day out and about in DC. Thanks to Lara and Jon for their hospitality!"
