  • Comfortable with a " back home" feel.

"This is the third time we have stayed at The White Duck and we always enjoy the amenities that this place affords. From the three comfortable bedrooms, with bathrooms close by; to the skylights in most rooms of the house. Most of the restaurants are no more than 15 minutes from the front door, but if you wish to eat in, Nancy has supplied the home with all the cookware one would need to put on a major feed for the entire family. You will also enjoy the full wraparound deck which leads you to the two tier deck overlooking Lake Michigan. This year with the lake being especially high it felt as though you were sitting on a house boat as the lake was almost lapping at the foot of the deck stairs. Remember that this is the quieter side of Door Co. so it is easier getting around without the hassle of all the traffic one has to endure on the Bay side. You may be able to find a newer place with newer amenities, but it would be hard to find a place that would make you feel more at home."

  • Lovely lake, lovely house

"We stayed at this kangaroo lake house in August 2016 - It was our first trip to door county. We weren't sure what to expect but were so happy we stayed on the "qiet" side of the lake. The home has an incredible view to the water, and the water is soft and sandy and shallow. We brought our paddle boards and we all enjoyed paddle boarding all over the lake - It's very quiet. I think we only heard one or two boats all week! The fire pit is beautifully situated, and we had a great time star gazing and caught the persied meteor shower!!! The home itself is lovely - there is a large well equipped kitchen. We ate many of our meals out on the deck which has a big picnic table that could accommodate all of us. We used the bikes and the canoe that were available which was a very nice convenience to have. We also put together MANY of the puzzles and played lots of games (and watched the olympics on the wide screen tv.) . Best of all you are just a quick jaunt to the beautiful beaches and all the restaurants on the other side of thepeninsula! There is so much to do in door county and we found this quiet lovely lake house to be the prefect place to land after a busy day out and about in DC. Thanks to Lara and Jon for their hospitality!"

  • This is a rustic cottage that is everything a cottage should be!

"Great week at a rustic Door County cottage which reminds me of the way Door County used to be. Enjoyed morning coffee in the gazebo, grilled dinners in the screen porch, watching the moonrise over the lake while sitting at a campfire. All is right with the world when you are here with family. The dock worked fine for our 18 foot boat and the sandbar just off the point was fun for frisbee and other shallow water games while the youngest could play on the inner tube."

  • Charming and cozy getaway

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach House. It was clean and comfortable and you cannot beat the location. The beach is lovely to walk on and you can see sunrise and sunset from this spot."
