  • super holiday weekend

"We arrived and had a friendly greeting from Joe. The property was beautiful and also gave a sense of privacy. So relaxing! our dogs had a great time. The views were unbeatable and we were not bothered by others. We enjoyed the fireworks from our own beachside. Cant thank Joe enough for the extra attention and personal touch. Such great service but also great conversation and care. Again thank you Joe for making our time away such a wonderful holiday. looking forward to coming again!!!! Mary Winter and Jerry Smith"

  • Excellent

"Beautiful location - able to get to Green Bay easily - and 30-60 minutes to most Door County attractions. House was clean and the manager quickly helped with an issue with kitchen appliances. Wifi worked as well as cable for TV. Great location. Easily could sleep 6 as description states."

  • This stuga (Swedish cottage) is 5 star all the way. Amazing personal touches by Barbro!

"My 23 yr old daughter lives in Nashville and was on a work assignment in Chicago. I live in Dallas and figured I would head up there and have a father daughter weekend. We just happened to be in the Potawatomi tribe of the YMCA Indian Princesses years ago and had 15 camping weekends back then that were such special times. We could not believe it when we found that the Potawatomi State Park was a couple miles away from this stuga. It could easily be a National Park combined with Peninsula State Park less than an hour away. We hiked extensively in both and the scenery was breathtaking. That said, this stuga was icing on the cake. It is like a little Hobbit house and Barbro (Swedish for Barbara), the host, has put hours and hours into decorating this little place. It is just cozy and warm. It is right on Green Bay with a beautiful little rocky beach that lights up with amazing stars at night. There is a fire pit to make a nice fire and smores. Barbro has been coming to this place since 1950 as a child and she lives right nearby. If you do not take time to meet her, then you are missing out. You must pause to hear the history of the property and hear of the joy she has in her children and grandchildren. She just glows with Christ's love if that is okay to say in a review. She invited us to her little Lutheran church down the road where everybody was to wear Packer's clothes as it was game day and they had a big potluck afterwards but we passed as we had limited time to get back on the trails. Her hospitality is amazing and Door County is the hidden treasure of WI in my view. I grew up in MI and can't believe I never heard of this place as it is a must visit in the US right up with the major National Parks. There are severall 5 star restaurants nearby and again, Barbro will guide you if you will let her. The people of Sturgeon Bay are so so friendly and the downtown is loaded with toy stores, galleries, gift shops, and places my wife would have loved to shop for clothes. It is basically Jackson Hole of WI. However, this is NOT a place to go to and stay in a hotel. Shame on you if you do. You would be an idiot to do such. For the personal touches that Barbro makes in every way, she should be charging twice what she charged us. I must take my other daughter, also part of the Potawatomi Indian Princesses up there and also my wife. If you go to this stuga, you will have to return and share the experience with other."

  • Fantastic Lakefront Cottage

"We had the most fantastic week up in this Cottage with our two dogs and teenage kids away from the hustle/bustle of everyday. The house is immaculately decorated, spacious, a ton of wildlife (we saw a pair of bald eagles in the nearby trees to complement the frogs and (harmless) snakes in the garden), great lake access with a couple of kayaks/row boat and super-secluded. The owner is a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. Getting into the local town is easy and there's a great little Supermarket for fresh food/provisions, etc. Seriously, nothing but good things to say. Thanks for a memorable trip."
