  • Rustic country charm

"Cute house on beautiful property conveniently located in the middle of the island. Its not on the water, but a quick drive in any direction takes you there. We stayed upstairs. The beds were comfortable, six to choose from. I liked that I could cook meals. Kitchen utensils, dishes, cookware were available. There were a few games, puzzles, and movies but titles are not everyone's taste. If you are looking for a modern five star hotel vibe this is not for you. I would definitely recommend and return if I was staying on the island again."

  • Adorable home away from home

"We loved staying in this home! It is in a great location, close to everything! it is a clean, comfy "home away from home"! As soon as we entered the home we felt very comfortable. There were nice decorating touches that made it evident the owner cares about their clients. We had 5 in our party and never felt like we were "stepping on each other". 2 full bathrooms is nice! It was amazingly clean, We will definitely be staying here again! The owner was very attentive and made it easy to communicate."

  • very peaceful / quiet

"We rented a 3 bedroom unit / facing the lake. We had a beautiful view of the lake and the unit was cozy/clean. Kevin was very quick with any questions we had on email and phone calls. There are life vest and canoes to use, it is available fcfs. And a small basketball area / playground for little kids. There are no toiletries in the bathroom / though we didn't ask. We had brought our own. Kitchen has most of the kitchenware/supplies ware you would need. There is a small charcoal grill on our deck. We also had fish boil at Viking Fish boil / walking distance to the resort. There is also a small grocery store if you need anything. If you go to washington island, this resort is about 13 mins away. Try to go early, we left around 8:40 am to catch the 9 AM ferry, and we were the 2nd last vehicle allowed on board. When we came back, the line from the mainland was about 30-35 cars long waiting to go Washington Island ! Overall, a very pleasant experience. We would go there again. Highly recommended!"

  • Thanksgiving weekend getaway

"This is the first time we have stayed in Door County in the fall. And our first time staying at Kulma 1 cottage. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the comforts of home in the cottage. There were only two of us, and our 2 little dogs, so the house was bigger than we needed. All the bedrooms were nicely decorated and set for making guests feel at home. We had a fire one night in the fireplace, which was very nice. The cozy kitchen had what we needed since we ate out for the most part. So many good places to eat right close to this cabin. If you are looking for contemporary decor and modern amenities this would not be the place for you. The tv is old, and the furniture is vintage or has the vintage flair. We had trouble getting the cable remote to work, but everything else worked fine. We loved everything about our stay since that is our preference for time away from home, and would definitely stay again. Kulma cottage 2 and 3 are on the same property and share the driveway."
