  • Bucket list dream Vacation

"It has always been my dream to take my daughters, their husbands and children up there before I cast off for the great beyond. We rented their "Eagles Nest CABIN" it was more like an executive estate! Beautiful home, comfortable beyond reason fully stocked with everything except our personal needs. A row boat, pontoon boat, canoe and a couple of kayaks were available. The 9 of us ranged from 73 to 6 and had the time of our lives. Fishing was fantastic, caught 30+ northern pike many perch, bluegill & catfish and my 17 1/2 inch small mouth bass! weather beautiful. Older teens swam off the dock, little kids loved beach at Black Oak Lake. Night time was bonfire time with stories of the days adventures. The kids caught toads and frogs along with a garter snake and played with the fish that were too small to keep and let them all go at sunset. We sited many Eagles and hawks and the kids wanted desperately to pet a deer so on one day I took them to the zoo in St. Germain where they had their fill of animals to pet. No one wanted to leave . It is a month later and all everyone talks about is the fun we had here, going back and what the folks at Pinestone call "A CABIN". We are still shaking our heads about that one!"

  • The get away cabin for the family

"My wife and I and another couple between ages 27-32, spent 4 days at the moose Lodge. It was perfect to easy sleep 10. Close to land o lakes city by still off the two track and away from it all. Used the pontoon and caught a few pike while watching a golden & bald eagle watch us catch fish. It was peaceful and relaxing. I drove from lower Michigan to try this cabin and it's worth every penny. Between the scenic drive to wine tasting to the fish hatchery in water skeet or bond falls....need to give it a try!"

  • Place is better than described !

"My wife and I just returned from an 8 day stay.We really enjoyed the Krueger Cabin. The main thing we seek is privacy. No problems there. The pier could handle my 17.5 fish and ski with no problems.Launch is 5min down the road. All appliances are pretty new and work great.Maybe a better equipped cabin than our home.Beautiful outdoor surroundings, nice lake(s).Known primarily for muskie(saw one and got broke off 3 times fishing for crappies)I was not impressed with the fishery but it was my first trip.Theres a 2 1/2 car garage thats spotless for your use, really cool.Charcoal Weber thats VERY important to us and a fantastic Weber Genesis gas grill if gas is your thing.Wood fireplaces upstairs and down that we used.I could smell the wood when I came in from the lake,WOW!!Lots of bike trails just a short drive away or you could just ride the roads, not too busy.Eagles, loons, deer, turkeys and great birdwatching, right from the FANTASTIC deck.Lots of glass, really nice.Owners were fast and great to deal with.VERY clean place.Lots of closet space.Drop yourself off at this place with some groceries and you wouldn't need to leave for the week.We didn't!!!OH,and don't miss Laneies Fireplace supper club about a 30min drive up 45.Really good.Twilight Supper club is not recommended and the bar (Club 45 up old 45)has some great bar food and pizza.Weve been coming to the area for the past 4yrs and these place never disappoint. If you choose to vacation at The Krueger Cabin,I think you will be very pleased.Oh we liked the beds too."

  • Northwoods Vacation 7-23 to 7-29-16

"First let me say we had a good time and the cottage was as cute and clean as shown in the photos. I would return again, because it is so private. We got locked out of the cabin twice and luckily the people in the workshop behind our cabin were there to help. The cabin was very small but just right for the two of us since we used the second bedroom for our luggage. No way would even a couple with two kids or six adults could fit in there without tripping over everyone's stuff. No closets, no real dresser drawers and no room for them either. No air conditioning and it was 90 and humid. The washer/dryer is a great amenity, even though it was a tight squeeze at the foot of the bed. The cottage location was good and convenient to everything we wanted to do. St Germain Flea Market on Mondays, Three Lakes Winery, Kayaking out of Eagle River, cooking on the grill, Eagle River T Shirt/Souvenir shops only 20 miles away for the rainy day. Being on the lake with our own boat and boat dock was great. We had privacy because no one was in the cottage that sits right in front of the one we rented. We didn't know from the photos it was so close. If others had been there, our vacation might have been much less peaceful and I wouldn't have liked it very much since we came to get away from people. The lake is very shallow (10-15 ft in most places) weedy and is pretty much fished-out according to locals. We only caught tiny little bluegills and perch which we threw back. It was disappointing that we had such bad luck, but the people we talked to said all the lakes around there are pretty much the same story. So we had lots of other things to do and didn't let that dampen our vacation. Just a caution to others who might be expecting to catch something other than weeds. Lac Vieux Desert was once a top musky lake, jumbo perch and big panfish 25 years ago. Resorts and supper clubs are going out of business and even many bait shops are closed. We did visit Bond Falls and highly recommend the journey to the top. Easy to moderate climb but worth the view even from the bottom. The kitchen is well furnished, and the cabin nicely decorated and kept up. There is a breakfast in the park on Tuesdays which is sponsored by the Sunrise Resort. They have a very good set up there, and a good breakfast at reasonable prices."
