  • Beautiful Place in the best water Up North

"Our family has stayed in Serenity Pines condo 3 times. The condo has everything you need to make you feel at home on an Up North vacation. It's very modern with newer appliances and amenities including a wine fridge. But, the decor still makes it feel like you're Up North. The kids appreciate the Wifi and ping pong table. And, we appreciate having lots of space in the kitchen for preparing meals. And, my wife loves having the large Master bathroom and walk in closet for getting ready. We also appreciate the screened in porch early evenings. We've stayed at plenty of places that didn't have one and you either need to be covered in bug spray or inside. Karen and Jerry are a pleasure to rent from and they keep the condo in great working order. They always have a representative from the area to check in and check out with. That person is also available should you encounter issues but we never have. The docks have plenty of room and we always rent a pontoon for the week. Cisco marina and Jays resort both rent them. We used to stay in Eagle River and decided we'd try Cisco Chain for chasing those elusive Walleyes. We far prefer the Land O Lakes area because it's much more peaceful and the Cisco Chain is one of the most beautiful bodies of water we've ever been on. It's a short drive to everything you need. Bents Camp has great food and drinks as well as a full bait shop. Forest Lake Country Store is a great place for breakfast and picking up essentials like Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream and fine wine. Grocery shopping is best done in Eagle River but Boulder Junction also has a small grocery store, with pretty good selection, at the gas station."

  • Wonderful, Peaceful Getaway!

"We were looking to make a last minute getaway from Chicago for Labor Day weekend before school started and came across this beautiful setting that actually came with a guest house! Living in a city condo without a yard, our kids have always fantasized about having their own treehouse, so this was such a wonderful experience for them. You can tell there is a lot of history here. The windows are opened by a hand crank, but the screens are well-maintained and do a good job keeping the bugs out. All the bedrooms have a view of the lake, and the beds are super comfy. There's no WiFi, and cellphone reception is shoddy (a bonus in my opinion, but my husband went to the nearby library for WiFi), so we brought our walkie talkies and were set! We fished, canoed, and biked during the day (Carol has a ton of pamphlets on local activities), and in the evenings, we listened to vinyl records and did puzzles by the woodburning fireplace. Then the kids would retire to their guesthouse with their walkie talkies, and they'd be out on the dock the next morning fishing again. Very friendly fish, perfect for first-time fishermen with pocket fishing rods. :) A great way to get the kids unplugged for a few days! Sometimes I think it is helpful to know what "extras" people brought with them in their reviews, so I will just mention that we brought our own bikes (though there were some in the garage), fishing rods (there's a nearby bait shop where you can get any supplies), walkie talkies, shampoo and a slow cooker. Other than that, everything was there. Thank you, Carol, for sharing your lovely property with us!"
