  • Perfect for our honeymoon!

"My bride and I rented this cabin for the week following our wedding. We live in Sheboygan, WI and planned a wedding in the north woods of Wisconsin at a resort. After our time at the resort we wanted to get away from people/crowds for our honeymoon and this place was perfect. The log cabin is an original 1930s cabin but but with all necessary modern amenities. The views from the main bedroom or the porch overlooking Rest Lake are beautiful. Every morning we enjoyed coffee on the boathouse porch. We took advantage of the use of the pontoon boat to get to other lakes on this 10 lake chain of lakes. And we took the canoe out to an island for a picnic. My bride and I are also avid bicyclists and this place is perfect for a bicycling fan. There is a new blacktop bike trail that begins at the end of the road and this trail is extensive. We rode it from Manitowish Waters to Boulder Junction and then on to Sayner. Very scenic. I know the trail connects to St. Germain too, but we had reached our max at that point. The towns of Manitowish Waters and Boulder Junction are surprisingly fun. We found some great supper clubs and taverns (Little Bohemia, Blue Bayou, White Oak Grill, the Pea Patch, Aqualand Ale House, Smokeys). Aqualand has a great tap beer list and White Oak was very impressive for fine dining. There were also some great shops in Boulder Junction for keepsakes from the north woods. This place made us so comfortable and we had so many things to do that we actually went the whole week without checking our phones or e-mails. Oh, another thing that surprised me was the sandy bottom of the lake immediately in front of the cabin. Great for swimming. No seaweed. This place was great for us and I could imagine it being great for couples with kids too. The hosts were also great. They live next door to this cabin so they are available for information or help if necessary. But they also had the decency not to interrupt us during our vacation. Great people, great cabin, and great vacation."

  • wonderful stay at LaBri

"We had a fabulous one week stay at LaBri and the week is one we will always remember. Rick and Nancy were wonderful with checking in on our stay and everything was very organized and easy to find. We travelled as a family of 4 with 2 small children - ages 1.5 and 5. The highchair and jogging stroller were very convenient and we loved having all of the space. We took advantage of everything LaBri had to offer - meals on the gorgeous screened in porch overlooking the lake, played games in the gazebo on the water, rented the pontoon boat for the day, had fun rowboat rides every day, explored the woods, photographed beautiful sunrises, sunsets, bald eagles, birds, river otters, chipmunks, and more, had smores in the fire pit every evening, saw a lumberjack show, fished, swam, took nature walks, napped on the hammock, so much to list!! It was a week we will always remember and we loved every minute. The lake is so peaceful and quiet - it was just magical to catch the sunrises. The house is very private and I think we saw maybe 3 fishing boats tops a day. The river otters would come out in the afternoon and turtles swam around my fishing lures. I cannot say enough how great the fishing is for a small child. My son is 5 and he would catch a smaller perch or bluegill within 30 seconds of casting. He was so excited to fish and it was great that the water was clear enough to even see the fish get the worm from the dock!! We saw a fun lumberjack show in Woodruff which was fun for the kids. The bedrooms are gorgeous and there is so much space. It was great having a washer and dryer. We did fish with a guide Jeff Winters for a half day and I was excited to catch a pike and Ryan a bluegill. The weather was fabulous and we couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Great memories for sure! We will be back!! Thank you so much to Rick and Helen for sharing your beautiful home with us!!"

  • Very Relaxing Stay - No frills

"A long overdue getaway. Very peaceful and we were glad we were the only renters this particular weekend as the property hosts several cabins and a house so the common areas are "shared". I admit we were happy to be alone for the majority of the time. Lovely little beach just steps from our cabin with nice picnic tables and gorgeous sunsets. We could easily load the kayaks from the sandy beach. The brick outdoor fireplace/grill is showing significant signs of wear but we made it work for a little campfire and it did just fine for smores and roasting hot dogs. We also brought our own small grill which is a good idea if you want more reliable grilling just outside your cabin. The cabin is clean and no frills bordering on a little tired. But our bed was comfy so no complaints on that. I think these cabins could be really charming with just a little effort and modest improvements like comfier chairs and things like that. The weather was cool so we used the little furnace and it worked just fine. The surrounding area is the best with truly wonderful bike trails, lakes, parks, hiking, kayaking, restaurants and so forth. No TV or radio - so bring a radio if you want music. We did and enjoyed it. We were able to get a cell signal but inconsistent data feed - which was ok. This wasn't an issue for us."

Thank you Ken and Linda"
