  • Wonderful Cabin!

"My family and I had an opportunity to stay at the Walker cabin in August, and had an absolute fabulous week. The cabin was extremely clean, and well stocked with everything you would need for an enjoyable vacation. I grew up in the area, and have always loved spending time on long lake! Thanks to Vern and Sherry for helping to make our trip memorable~"

  • You Won't Want to Leave!

"My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and could have easily stayed another 5. The home is immaculate! We were shocked at how clean it is, and how much attention the owners put in to every detail to ensure their guests will have what they need. The river is mesmerizing, the wildlife abundant, several times we commented on how quiet and peaceful it was. We originally planned to do some sightseeing in the area, but once we got to the home we decided not to leave! We will definitely be back!!"

  • Great simple and rustic cabin in a beautiful area!

"We had a great stay in this rustic cabin! Our boys were in awe when they walked in, both saying "whoaaa!" when they saw the inside. The wildlife display is a good example of the history of the cabin. The stone fireplace is beautiful and the accommodations very comfortable. The cabin has a very good feel to it, we all felt relaxed and at peace while we were there. The view is lovely and it was incredibly peaceful. I very much enjoyed coffee on the back deck in the morning. We loved going over to Red's, everyone was very friendly and the food was great. We also rented a kayak for a day, which was very convenient and fun, they were very accommodating and made this very easy. We loved looking for the elk and hiking at Little Falls Slough Gundy was one of our favorites. We can't wait to go back to this cabin! Thank you Josh and Kaisa for sharing this cabin. • Getaway : return trip

"Went last year in august- came home and Immediately booked 2 weeks this august. We just returned. Love the central location to Duluth- Apostle island seashore, Ashland and with a little streach: Bayfield. The cabin is quite remote, but their are several other cabins on the other side of the river in sight, and canoeists passing by. Wifi is very good. We watched the olympics nightly- reception was great. Last year we never really turned on the TV. Water is pristeen clean 63 to 65 degrees. Canoeing is great. The best canoe needs some TLC soon. We mentioned it to the caretaker and would bet that it will be attended to timely. The semi- dated cabin is really clean, and the caretaker maintains it well. Very peacefull setting. Kitchen and whole property is very well equipped. We were there for the last day of the meteor shower- Cloudy night- otherwise we would have had a nice show. If we don't spend our next summer vacation canoe camping the Namekagan or Fambeau, we will probably return again. Two weeks was so much nicer than one."
