  • Comfortable lodging for a group of any size with excellent owners

"This rental home was perfect for our large group outing. The large kitchen and open living area provided everything we needed to keep everyone connected throughout the weekend and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The owners provided excellent customer service as we planned our trip and were very accommodating throughout the process. Other than a few inconveniences we encountered, which based on past reviews do not appear to be regular occurrences, we enjoyed our stay very much. I would recommend this home to anyone searching for a location for a large group get-together in the Holcombe area. Thank you Julie and Wayne."

  • An anniversary to remember

"My husband & I just returned from a week at this cottage, where we celebrated 14 yrs of marriage. We got lucky w/the weather, having sunshine & upper 70's-low 80's on 4 of the days. Thank you Mother Nature! The cottage itself was perfect for the 2 of us having 2 bedrooms & 1 bath. There is carpeting in the bedrooms only. Heat is supplied by gas fireplace in the living room (+kitchen & dining room - all 1 room) and electric heating elements on the walls in the bedrooms & bathroom. I found the cottage to be cold as it does not get much direct sunlight so I utilized the heat & it worked well. The cottage has cable tv (+dvd/blue ray player) & wifi which allowed for us to stay current w/family going ons & work. The kitchen is equipped w/most essentials & the fridge is full sized. We cooked over half our meals at the cottage & if I'd give any suggestions (& it's minor) it would be to have some smaller plates & to replace the plastic plates/bowls. The mud room is spacious & is an excellent place to store coats, coolers & for doing laundry of course. The pier is very close to the house & it has 4 bouys so you can pull your boat right up w/little to no set up depending on your boat size. You can walk into the water & wade around but bring your aqua socks as there are snails blanketing the bottom. The water was cool in May but it was 80 degrees so I went in up to my thighs & did some casting. Caught a lovely crappie that day. If fishing is your thing then I'd recommend Nelson Lake. Watch for tree stumps & limbs - your navigation system should have them detailed. Other than that it's a beautiful lake full of crappie, blue gill, walleye & my fav large mouth bass. I caught plenty and released them all so you can take a shot at catching them when you get here! Thank you Joy for sharing your cottage w/us and for getting that extension cord so we could charge our boat motors. Really appreciated that. We'll be back!"

  • Incredible Property!

"Everything from the main cabin, to the bunkhouse, to the waterfront is equisite. John (owner) was extremely accomodating and accessable and made us feel very much at home. We had a large family gathering (15 people ranging from 11 - 82) and everyone had a fantastic time. There was plenty to do for everyone. Water activities were a big hit, but we also enjoyed going into Hayward and Stone Lake for short excursions and dinner. We've been staying at this property for 6+ years in both summer and autumn (which is breathtaking beautiful) and never had anything short of a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a first class experience."

  • Great family getaway

"We had a fantastic week at the Lipsie Ritz! Fishing with my father and daughter was about the best. We caught 75 crappies in about 3 hours one evening. Dad lived close by so we were able to hook up his electric trolling motor and get around the lake pretty easily. We had a campfire outside every night and a fish fry on our last night. Kids were kept busy swimming or watching the movies on the DVD down stairs. Sunsets are stunning on the lake and there is a family of Eagles that lives and flies daily around. My daughter saw one on the doc and got some great pics at 5:30 am. The home is a Cabin and not modernized but adds to the character of the place. Overall is we a great time and one we won't soon forget!"
