  • Getaway : return trip

"Went last year in august- came home and Immediately booked 2 weeks this august. We just returned. Love the central location to Duluth- Apostle island seashore, Ashland and with a little streach: Bayfield. The cabin is quite remote, but their are several other cabins on the other side of the river in sight, and canoeists passing by. Wifi is very good. We watched the olympics nightly- reception was great. Last year we never really turned on the TV. Water is pristeen clean 63 to 65 degrees. Canoeing is great. The best canoe needs some TLC soon. We mentioned it to the caretaker and would bet that it will be attended to timely. The semi- dated cabin is really clean, and the caretaker maintains it well. Very peacefull setting. Kitchen and whole property is very well equipped. We were there for the last day of the meteor shower- Cloudy night- otherwise we would have had a nice show. If we don't spend our next summer vacation canoe camping the Namekagan or Fambeau, we will probably return again. Two weeks was so much nicer than one."

  • Beautiful Cabin

"This was a beautiful cabin to stay at. Easy access to ATV trails which was our main purpose for traveling to this area. The cabin was very clean. It was easy to work with the Owner prior to the stay. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is due to the delay of return of my damage deposit. I had to contact him greater than a week later for my damage deposit return. His response was that he was "out of town on business". Isn't having your cabin listed on VRBO a business that you run and operate providing you income? My damage deposit return is important too as a customer."

  • Everything you could ask for and more!

"Our family has been vacationing here for the last four years. We have never had an issue or complaint. The house is exactly as pictured and described. It is always clean, ready, stocked with anything we may need, and has plenty of room. I can't say enough about the hosts. They are caring, friendly, and available if needed. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay. The grandchildren love swimming on the raft, fishing off the pier, kayaking, and paddle boating. The lake is never real crowded making it ideal for water sports. Taking the pontoon for a ride is always enjoyable and typically means a trip to Dairy Queen and a stop at the light house for a swim. Scenic parks with waterfalls, Hayward, and Duluth are all close. We've made memories here that will last a lifetime. We just returned and are already making plans for next summer's stay. Can't wait!"
