  • Love this Villa!

"Just finished up another year of fun in Hayward, at Scott and Adu's wonderful Villa! This is our 3rd stay and 41 years of our group of girlfriend's getting away together for a long weekend. This year, we took a vote and decided to make this our permanent location! This beautiful Villa has so much room to spread out, a great kitchen, stocked with everything you need (and 2 coffee pots), a huge dining room table (great for dining and playing board games), 3 bathrooms, lots of beds, beautiful artwork, a lovely sunroom, a deck and fire pit--and it's within walking distance to Main Street for shopping or dining out and to the golf course! I would recommend this Villa for anyone staying in Hayward. See you next year!"

  • A beauty of a place in a secluded locale.

"My son-in-law said it best, " You found a high-end cottage deep in the woods" The home is clean, well appointed and comfortable. Many features include the outdoor patio with the gas (and Smokey Joe for the charcoal possessed) washer & dryer (which we didn't use). A fire pit right on the river was a great place to roast hot dogs and smores and share a few beers and stories. We paddled the canoe and one of the kayaks to the best of our ability and had a ball. My 9 month old granddaughter toddled all over the place and remained surprisingly clean since the condition of the cottage was spotless. We are all cooks and beware that the stove is glass top electric and takes some getting used to but we managed. The best feature, in my opinon, is the lighting. The home has about 70% of its wall space comprised of windows which let in tons of light. On the one cloudy afternoon we had the track lighting lit up the place to promote a cheerful feeling...nothing can be so mood killing as the north wood in the rain."

  • An anniversary to remember

"My husband & I just returned from a week at this cottage, where we celebrated 14 yrs of marriage. We got lucky w/the weather, having sunshine & upper 70's-low 80's on 4 of the days. Thank you Mother Nature! The cottage itself was perfect for the 2 of us having 2 bedrooms & 1 bath. There is carpeting in the bedrooms only. Heat is supplied by gas fireplace in the living room (+kitchen & dining room - all 1 room) and electric heating elements on the walls in the bedrooms & bathroom. I found the cottage to be cold as it does not get much direct sunlight so I utilized the heat & it worked well. The cottage has cable tv (+dvd/blue ray player) & wifi which allowed for us to stay current w/family going ons & work. The kitchen is equipped w/most essentials & the fridge is full sized. We cooked over half our meals at the cottage & if I'd give any suggestions (& it's minor) it would be to have some smaller plates & to replace the plastic plates/bowls. The mud room is spacious & is an excellent place to store coats, coolers & for doing laundry of course. The pier is very close to the house & it has 4 bouys so you can pull your boat right up w/little to no set up depending on your boat size. You can walk into the water & wade around but bring your aqua socks as there are snails blanketing the bottom. The water was cool in May but it was 80 degrees so I went in up to my thighs & did some casting. Caught a lovely crappie that day. If fishing is your thing then I'd recommend Nelson Lake. Watch for tree stumps & limbs - your navigation system should have them detailed. Other than that it's a beautiful lake full of crappie, blue gill, walleye & my fav large mouth bass. I caught plenty and released them all so you can take a shot at catching them when you get here! Thank you Joy for sharing your cottage w/us and for getting that extension cord so we could charge our boat motors. Really appreciated that. We'll be back!"

  • Beautiful setting!!!

"We had a great week at the cabin!! The cabin was the real deal...authentic with modern amenities. Loved the vintage details. The close proximity to the water a plus!! The patio was inviting and the first few nights were perfect for a fire. Very clean and comfortable!! Thankful for the fans in the garage as it was pretty warm and humid the end of our trip. We fished everyday, but were not too lucky. Caught a handful of crappie. The back room with all the windows was beautiful & sunsets amazing. We enjoyed our time and look forward to returning!"
