  • Fabulous and Peaceful Island Vacation

"Our stay at Sheila's condo was fabulous. She provided a great deal of info before we arrived on what to bring with us and how to prepare for our stay. The condo was wonderfully equipped with plenty of towels, bedding, kitchen equipment, and much more. The view from the front window to the water was great, and we truly enjoyed the slow pace of the island. The library is a must see, as is a visit to the museum, the coffee shop, the bakery, and the Island Market. Plan to do some cooking and bring some food along. The few restaurants on the island have sporadic hours, but the food is great when they are opened. We will definitely stay here again. It was perfect for our family of four!"

  • Comfortable lodging for a group of any size with excellent owners

"This rental home was perfect for our large group outing. The large kitchen and open living area provided everything we needed to keep everyone connected throughout the weekend and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The owners provided excellent customer service as we planned our trip and were very accommodating throughout the process. Other than a few inconveniences we encountered, which based on past reviews do not appear to be regular occurrences, we enjoyed our stay very much. I would recommend this home to anyone searching for a location for a large group get-together in the Holcombe area. Thank you Julie and Wayne."

  • Great "up north" experience.

"We are a family of 4 from Colorado. My husband and I are in our 40's and our two daughters are 8 and 10 years old. We grew up in Wisconsin and we were looking to give our girls the Wisconsin lake house experience. This was a great place to do it. The pontoon boat was very nice as well as two canoes and a kayak. We brought two stand up paddle boards as well. The lake was perfect size and temperature for swimming. Great fishing as well. The portage to Bond Lake was fun. Amazing wild life. A bald eagle flew right over our canoes on day out on the lake. Our daughters loved swimming in the lake and fishing. We rented a speed boat for tubing as well. Very fun. The sun room was perfect for our two daughters to sleep as it had two twin beds. The master upstairs is also very nice. The front bedroom downstairs is very nice as it has nice carpet and a view of lake. The back bedroom downstairs was just basic. When we had extended family come and visit we used all the bedrooms as well as a blow up mattress in the basement walkout room. Lots of great sleeping space. The family room has a wonderful sectional couch that fits lots of people and is very very comfortable. It is nice having the kitchen, family room and dining space all open so everyone can be together. We watched movies, played games, and puzzles. The fire pit is nice as well as big outdoor space for ladder ball and badmitten games. The grill is charcoal so bring a lot of charcoal bags. I also recommend coolers with ice on the deck for drinks as the fridge fills up with food quickly. The stove is electric. Nice stainless appliances. Even has satellite TV and wifi. Overall, this is a beautiful lake and economical accomadations. I loved the close proximity from lake to house. Beautiful sunsets, swimming, and fishing!"

  • Great birdwatching...

"I loved my time at this Hay Creek Cabin. We enjoyed watching a great blue heron that was fishing from the dock. Also from the dock we saw loon families and loons taking flight. We saw and heard pileated woodpeckers calling to each other and we saw bald eagles diving for fish.. I loved that, for my husband, who can't do steps, there's complete handicapped access to the fully equipped first floor: bedroom, bath, kitchenette, no steps at all, and easy downhill walk to the dock, also with no steps. Also, for the couch potatoes like us, we enjoyed the great variety in the CD, DVD and book collections. I plan to come back every year going forward."
