  • Authentic log home getaway

"Just returned from a wonderful week with extended family at Lakeside Lodge. Our trip was fantastic! Revis was able to accommodate our large group and friendly dogs. Pros- private, amazing beach, spacious and comfortable home, beautiful lake, large pontoon boat and jet ski, plenty of firewood for fires on the beach. Cons- (only listing as a heads up for those it may be a problem for) steep, natural path down to beach- difficult for those who are unfit, elderly, or handicap- not a problem for us, we looked at it as good exercise. No air conditioning (which we knew from the listing). When we arrived it was hot and humid in the house with all windows open, no breeze- not a problem during the day, but makes for sticky sleeping at night. (Fortunately, the temps were in the 70s the rest of the week and the house cooled down). My one recommendation to Revis would be to invest in a larger refrigerator that is not a side by side. With our large group we brought pre-made meals for the week that we needed to keep frozen and the limited freezer space and narrowness of a side by side made that quite challenging. Thank you Revis for sharing your home with us! It provided an awesome setting for our annual family retreat to the north woods. We greatly appreciate you accommodating our group!"

  • Lovely cabin, beautiful quiet lake

"This cabin was delightful. Well stocked with board games, lots of boats and a fully loaded kitchen. We kayaked every day! Lost Land Lake itself is marvelous. Eagles, otters, loons and all kinds of fish. This was the northwoods experience that I had been searching for."

  • Amazing, private, relaxing rustic cabin

"This was a fantastic getaway! Everything was exactly as described and the love/creativity the owner put into the cabin and furnishings (!) is obvious everywhere you look. Fred's skills are beyond description and we felt fortunate he chooses to share this very special place with others. Relaxation is immediate upon arrival and we loved our 9 days here. The autumn colors were so beautiful and the weather was still warm enough to enjoy the kayak with the water all to ourselves. It felt like we were the only people for miles around. Saw a huge elk and his harem on one of the trails! Extremely clean and well-maintained with everything we could need provided - even plenty of fire wood for the stove even though there is central heat. We would have loved a tub (or even a hot tub) but knew ahead of time there was only a shower. Would suggest calling ahead if you plan to visit any local resort for dinner due to possible closures. Would also recommend a sign of some sort at the turn off and at the entry to the property just to make it a bit easier to find - we weren't sure we were in the right place until we saw Fred's name in the messages left by other guests. At first we were a bit uncertain when told in our directions the cabin isn't usually locked but after a couple of days, we totally understood! We would absolutely recommend this property without reservation to anyone looking to relax and enjoy complete solitude -- you won't be disappointed! After a couple of trips for supplies to Hayward, we didn't leave the cabin except to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings - the best sleep we've had on vacation ever, thank you Fred! PS: My favorite piece of your handiwork was the telephone table -- it's absolutely beautiful in design and detail -- great work!"
