  • Very nice cabin.

"Cabin and location were great. Off season. We had the lake to ourselves The only thing that kept this from being 5 stars is the cabin needed some deep cleaning. Lot of cobwebs and sticky surfaces. But the cabin itself and the history provided about the cabin and surrounding areas was great. All in all it was a wonderful vacation."

  • Our week at the lake

"Our group of 3 adults and 5 children had a wonderful time at this beautiful lake house. The area is quiet and gorgeous. Cooking for this brood was a dream in this amazing kitchen. We had more than enough room and the kids had a blast just catching fish from the dock. We enjoyed the lake on our pontoon. It was so much fun to toodle around and stop to swim, fish or go to the tiki bar @ Tagalongs. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table and got a kick out of having their own space. I would highly recommend this home for your vacation."

  • Quiet, relaxing, shiny new lake cabin!

"We are so glad we found the Ripley Beach Retreat. We are a family of three, and it was perfect for us. We have a 3-year old daughter, so this cabin was a good fit for the size of our group. Our daughter enjoyed playing in the sand and in the water. The cabin is very well appointed -- the owners have thought of everything! The kitchen is well stocked and there are plenty of towels, bed linens and more. It sits on a beach with 3 other cabins; the neighbors were using their cabins, but everyone had plenty of room. The owners have left a binder for guests with local attractions, restaurant recommendations, cabin information and more. It is clear the owners really care about making sure their guests have a nice experience! The lake water is VERY clear. We had fish just swimming up to us at the shore, they were not shy at all! There is a paddle boat there for guest use which was nice to have. The owners have also left things like puzzles, games, sand toys, kids plates/silverware etc for the littles. Very thoughtful and helpful. We explored several things in the area -- Long Lake (go to Pioneer on the Lake -- great pizza!) Trego (canoe float trip), Spooner, Shell Lake and more. There are lots of things to do! Overall a great stay in a beautiful area. Thank you!"

  • Great place, great experience!

"Mary's cabin is really warm and welcoming, we all felt right at home as soon as we walked in and certainly felt like we were about to enjoy a "true Northwoods experience!" Great view of the lake from the deck, we certainly enjoyed grilling dinner, watching the sunset and then heading down by the lake for a fire or playing games in the screened porch to get away from the bugs. Lake Chetac is beautiful (fishing was pretty good) and the pontoon boat definitely added to the wonderful experience we had here, highly recommended! As a side note, mice were a bit of a pain (four caught over the three days) due to the weather this year (according to the locals we chatted up) but the cabin is set up with traps in the kitchen so just be aware that you might have to take care of a few little critters while you're there. All the best, guys, thanks for a great stay!"
