  • Beutiful Lakefront Retreat for Family Reunion

"This property has a beautiful view of the Lake and was the perfect setting for a small family reunion. The house was set up perfectly with two levels for sleeping and entertaining. We could walk to resturants, or just relax and cook or grill."

"Our family had a fun time paddle boating & fishing in the row boat provided..a couple bites but, no fish caught. We enjoyed seeing nature among us at the lake.. Ducks, Herons, Cranes, frogs, turtles, deer ect. The cabin was clean, roomy and felt like home. Enjoyed using the dining room table for playing board games and rocking chairs for movie night. Downstairs could use a portable heater for cold summer nights and maybe, kitchenette be useful with mini fridge & microwave for people using the downstairs at night. Otherwise, nice place to stay for the family on a short vacation."

  • Beautiful location, clean home and lots of entertaining space!

"We had a great family vacation at the lake! Beautiful location, right on the water and easy access to nearby grocery store, gas station, and restaurants. House was very clean, and kid friendly. Would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful lake and spend time in a very cozy, comfortable and clean home."

  • Quiet but convenient to town and absolutely beautiful

"My young adult daughters, my workaholic husband and I needed a place to unwind, and this was perfect. No wifi meant we just couldn't check our e-mail (so sad!), and had to read novels, write, cook good meals in the well-equipped kitchen and talk with each other instead. Waking up to a view of the lake every morning was good for my soul, as was listening to the big fish jumping and other sounds of the lake as I went to sleep. Even though it's close to Chippewa Falls, we could see tons of stars at night. The neighbors were really nice; Bob insisted we borrow his floats and checked up on us almost every day to see if there was anything we needed, and everyone said hello as we biked and walked around. The Old Abe Trail is about 3 miles away on quiet, virtually traffic free roads, and the bike ride to Cornell was stunning. We also rode bikes into Chippewa and had a lovely lunch one day. Kayaks were available, and I couldn't get enough of it--even went out in a gentle rain. The house itself is so nice: so much light and fresh air. My girls want to know where we can get sofas like the ones in the living room area. The outdoor sitting area was marvelous, too, but my favorite place to sit was the little bench on the dock, looking right out at the lake and watching those monstrous fish jump. All three beds were great--a little on the firm side for the young people but perfect for us older folks. The kitchen was amazing, and everything was clean and in good working order, but not so squeaky clean we were afraid to use stuff. We were not impressed by the Japanese restaurant that got good reviews on sites we checked, but we had a great meal at a dairy cafe in Cornell. So grateful to this owner for sharing their home with us!"
