  • Great cabin, great spot to enjoy the lake

"This cabin was the setting for a wonderful family vacation this summer. The cabin set up (3 bedrooms, 2 baths) was perfect for our family of parents and teens. Just the right amount of "together" space, but room to be alone when desired. Wifi and cable worked like a dream. Clean, well equipped. Outside, though, made the experience outstanding. The connection to the lake was beautiful. The small sand beach was the best lake connection we saw in the area. Super-clear water. Completely free of weeds. We had a wonderful time hanging out in the water, between the shore and the swim raft. The pontoon boat was the perfect way to experience the lake. In short, every positive review below is right on the mark. And still true during a summer 2015 visit. We would definitely stay here again."

  • Andrew Tate Condo #200 is the place to stay in Bayfield

"We just completed our visit to Bayfield (July 9-17) and had the great pleasure of once again staying in the Andrew Tate Condo #200 in Bayfield. We've stayed here many times and will not stay anywhere else in Bayfield. Believe me, we have tried others ... and nothing compares to this. The condo is ideally situated: right downtown and very close to the harbor and docks. We enjoy sitting on the balcony and watching the activity of downtown life and love watching the boating activity, as well. The condo includes all of the amenities one could ask for or need. Except for the times we took day trips out of town, we rarely used our car because everything is literally just steps away. We find this unit particularly appealing because it is pet friendly. Our dog absolutely loves it there. Seriously ... we think she's going to be depressed now that we're home because we don't have a second floor balcony for her to sit on and observe! We had a chance to meet the owner this time and he is as we'd expected--very friendly, considerate, and accommodating. We enjoyed 8 wonderful nights in Bayfield this trip ... hated to leave ... but will return!"

  • Fantastic. Secluded, natural setting with a beautiful log cabin

"Everything here was wonderful. We spent the majority of our time outside and on the lake (tent the pontoon for sure) but in the evenings we were able to appreciate the finely built cabin and the trophy fish/deer mounts. Great location, Rich was very helpful in navigating the rural dirt roads."

  • Fun in the Northwoods

"We spent a week here in late June. We had 4 adults and 3 kids age 17, 15, and 5. We had a wonderful time. The house met our needs beautifully. We had good fishing, good hiking/exploring and it's an easy trip into Hayward. We brought yard games such as bags & badminton and had fires most nights. The fish cleaning station in the garage was great. The fishing was a highlight. We rented a canoe & brought kayaks & a fishing boat to complete our fun. The owners were easy to contact & the neighbors were helpful. A huge storm blew in 5 minutes after half our party arrived. The other half arrived during the storm. There were downed trees (this is where the neighbors came in) across the road that had to be sawed/moved before we could all get TO the cabin. We were without power off & on for a couple days (along with a lot of the area). We still had a great time. We were able to get a generator from the owners so we could run the fridge & charge our phones. The house was large enough to suit all our needs & give us together time or time apart as needed. We cooked, BBQ'd and ate out. The screen porch was a huge asset & there were great lake breezes. We would suggest bringing measuring spoons & measuring cups if you plan to do any scratch cooking. Almost everything else was there. We thoroughly enjoyed the loons, ospreys, bald eagles, herons & otters. We even saw a bear in the neighborhood! Our only complaint with the cabin would be that the listing hasn't been updated recently. There is no longer a sandy beach area as shown in the pictures. That area is now over grown & the area right along the dock is not a spot we were comfortable using for swimming due to the bottom, grasses & water lilys. The dock/boardwalk access needs to be raised so that shallow wading is not required to reach the shore. We bought rubber boots & it was no longer an issue of wet feet. We're sure some of it was from the rain but it also appears the lake level has risen and the board walk has settled since the listing was made. We'd be at 5 Stars except for the discrepancy between the listed beach & the reality of it."
