  • Couples Fall Weekend Getaway

"We wanted a place on a big lake, with great a great deck, fire pit and private. This place delivered on all our wishes , the deck was wonderful, fire pit with comfortable chairs for all of us. The 6 of spent a wonderful Sunday in October on this gorgeous lake in 80 degree weather! We really enjoyed all the amenities of this home, the Weber grill, the oven and dishwasher, TV's, fireplaces and a wonderful dining room table to accommodate all of us for dinner. It had everything we needed. We enjoy going to a place that has amenities and we were not disappointed. Owner/caretaker, was wonderful to work with and replied to my inquiries quickly. The grounds were wonderful as well and we enjoyed a fall walk through the beautiful fall colored tree lined roads. I would definitely recommend this place if you enjoy a high end place on a wonderfully clear beautiful lake!"

  • Fun in the Northwoods

"We spent a week here in late June. We had 4 adults and 3 kids age 17, 15, and 5. We had a wonderful time. The house met our needs beautifully. We had good fishing, good hiking/exploring and it's an easy trip into Hayward. We brought yard games such as bags & badminton and had fires most nights. The fish cleaning station in the garage was great. The fishing was a highlight. We rented a canoe & brought kayaks & a fishing boat to complete our fun. The owners were easy to contact & the neighbors were helpful. A huge storm blew in 5 minutes after half our party arrived. The other half arrived during the storm. There were downed trees (this is where the neighbors came in) across the road that had to be sawed/moved before we could all get TO the cabin. We were without power off & on for a couple days (along with a lot of the area). We still had a great time. We were able to get a generator from the owners so we could run the fridge & charge our phones. The house was large enough to suit all our needs & give us together time or time apart as needed. We cooked, BBQ'd and ate out. The screen porch was a huge asset & there were great lake breezes. We would suggest bringing measuring spoons & measuring cups if you plan to do any scratch cooking. Almost everything else was there. We thoroughly enjoyed the loons, ospreys, bald eagles, herons & otters. We even saw a bear in the neighborhood! Our only complaint with the cabin would be that the listing hasn't been updated recently. There is no longer a sandy beach area as shown in the pictures. That area is now over grown & the area right along the dock is not a spot we were comfortable using for swimming due to the bottom, grasses & water lilys. The dock/boardwalk access needs to be raised so that shallow wading is not required to reach the shore. We bought rubber boots & it was no longer an issue of wet feet. We're sure some of it was from the rain but it also appears the lake level has risen and the board walk has settled since the listing was made. We'd be at 5 Stars except for the discrepancy between the listed beach & the reality of it."

  • Cabin with lots of space

"My family just came back from a week at this property. Our group was 3 families, for a total of 6 adults and 6 children ages 6 and under. We found the property to be exactly as advertised. Here are the things we really liked about the property. -large rooms, lots of spaces to gather or slip away for peace and quiet -3 levels gave each family a place to retreat to, note: cabin is not child proof -3 season room was great for early risers to gather and drink coffee without waking the kids -kitchen and breakfast area provided seating for everyone -large downstairs bar made a great place for mixing drinks, keeping that out of the kitchen -large dumpsters for garbage and recycling- no trying to stuff into full cans -small beach area perfect for toddlers and young children -pier was great for the young kids to catch pan fish -located on quiet bay, property included paddle boat and canoe -owner and property manager was a delight to deal with, quick responses to our issues after the severe storm and small stuff like where are the paddles for the canoe -location is close to Hayward and Walmart is 10 minutes away And here are a few things that could have made it better: (pretty small stuff) -we could have used another full size frig, we did utilize coolers on the deck for beverages. Our group had the frig in the kitchen pretty full all week -lights and fans had lots of switches and remotes, a little confusing for us -a row boat would have been a nice addition since the bay is so quiet If you are considering the property, what you see is what you get. It is beautiful."

  • Comfortable cabin - with private dock - and close entertainment :)

"The cabin was just what we needed for three adults and a four year old. The layout of the main areas was comfortable and very functional. The upstairs bedrooms were great -- one for mom and dad with a baby bassinet -- and the other with twin beds which worked well for grandma and granddaughter. The canoe and paddle boat offered some great entertainment. We also enjoyed the lumberjack show, mini golf, and ice cream which were located very handy to the cabin. Fishing would have been an option off the dock had we tried to do that --- swimming was not an option due to weeds. Hayward has a lot to offer and we enjoyed our stay very much."
