  • Memory making lake house rental

"Our family is getting older and busier. We wanted a place to help us slow down, relax, hang out, and do the lake activities we love and also make great memories! We loved the rooms, bathrooms, and most of all the big great room. The screened porch gave us respite from the huge mosquitos that came out at dark. We loved the large yard for playing yard games. And we loved the lake access with a great dock and fire pit area!! There was space for everyone and something for everyone to do! My brother brought his dogs, and even they loved it! The rental family was easy and great to deal with, and we thank them for opening up their awesome lake house to others. The only thing that we thought it could need was a hammock:) Thanks again!!"

  • Quiet. Peaceful. Relaxing. Easy.

"This was our first time trying a rented home for a week's vacation. Was two families going together on vacation. Although the weather could have been better, the grandkids still got to go fishing with grandpa (by boat and off the dock), got to go inner tubing behind the boat. What the VRBO site info does not tell you is this home is located on Wisconsin Rustic Road #71 (which itself is about 2 miles long)...I'm a Rustic Road fan and to me that's a daughter and I walked it one day and the lake views were pleasant, plus there are some really dated and some really large looking homes along the way, and the mosquitoes that day anyway seemed minimal to non-existent. The home itself is spacious, with a great floor plan...the grandkids immediately commented on how they wouldn't mind living in that home full time...and it contains everything you'd likely need in the way of basics for every room in the home. We saw bald eagles sitting and flying around, and everyday, loons swimming in the area and at those times of the day when the water was calmer, some rather large looking fish literally jumping out of the water for I assume their lunch. We didn't catch any of those big ones, but we did see a fisherman in a boat just in front of this home pull a big one in only to have it fall off just before he got it into his boat. Standing on the dock, you can see small fish swimming down below...the water is extremely clear...and the grandkids were guaranteed easy small fish catching fun even it too small to keep. The grandkids say we should come back here again next year. The owners said we were welcome back anytime. Thank You Ron and Beverly and adorable little Chip for letting us enjoy your home and lakefront Cabin at Double Eagle."

"Paradise!! Deep Lake Lodge could not have been more PERFECT for our group of 6 women needing a post Thanksgiving getaway! What a place to re-charge before the Holiday Craziness !! The photos on the VRBO site are amazing BUT don't quite do justice to this comfortable, cozy, serene, private, spacious and gorgeous VRBO! Our time was spent mainly relaxing with some good wine and cooking up some wonderful food together in a gourmet kitchen. Enjoying a fire each evening, more wine, playing a game of pool, curling up with a good book, more wine, going for walks, a trip to Hayward for some shopping, etc... Deep Lake Lodge is perfect for all types of groups and families but if you are a group of women looking for this type of mellow retreat that you will never want to leave, this is the place! We plan to expand our group next time as the Lodge/home can sleep up to 14. (The bunkhouse will be closed until May - and is a WONDERFUL space as well!) Some of our friends enjoy scrapbooking or crafting and some of the group enjoys more outdoor activities i.e. nordic skiing and snow shoeing - perfect place to satisfy a variety of interests for any group! We very much appreciated that the Adams keep this property meticulously maintained and a bonus that it is only a 2 hr. drive from Minneapolis. Going to re-book asap and look forward to our next stay! Thanks so much Kent and Elaine!"

  • Great cabin for everyone

"Just returned from a great stay at this cabin. Like mentioned in other reviews, everyone enjoyed the flat approach to the lake and the nice beach area and sandy bottom Lake. The deck and wooden swing were nice options for watching the beautiful sunsets. On the inside, we appreciated that the place was clean and nice, but not too over the top where you are afraid to sit on the furniture or not put down a table cloth. The spacious bedrooms gave each family enough room for a little privacy . The dining table was perfect for playing games. The only notable thing was that the living room and screen porch in the pictures seemed a bit bigger than reality. Don't get me wrong there's still plenty of room but it was just different than expected. Stacy, the property manager i believe, always responded quickly and checked in with us when we were there. I would definitely recommend this place."
