  • Lovely cabin, beautiful quiet lake

"This cabin was delightful. Well stocked with board games, lots of boats and a fully loaded kitchen. We kayaked every day! Lost Land Lake itself is marvelous. Eagles, otters, loons and all kinds of fish. This was the northwoods experience that I had been searching for."

  • Perfect family vacation

"We had an amazing getaway to Hayward at the Rest A While cabin. We walked in and it was spotless. The living room, kitchen and dining room had all the amenities we needed. The grill out back was great for cooking steaks. There was plenty of outdoor seating and a fire pit for making s'mores. We took our toddler out on the paddleboat and canoe both days we were there. We brought her life jacket so it was safe and a lot of fun for her. The lake is also set up nicely so you don't get overrun boats after you leave your dock from the cabin. The bedrooms were very comfortable. Plenty of sheets and pillows. We brought extra blankets because we get cold. The bathroom was clean like the rest of the house. We couldn't complain about one thing. The management was very detailed (thank you Rhonda!) and we felt well taken care of during our stay. The cabin is in walking distance of mini golf and the lumberjack show - and local restaurants. It's literally the perfect set up. I would definitely stay here again with my family!"

  • Perfect location....right in the heart of Madeline Island!

"We are a family of 4 that stayed around the 4th of July. We planned on eating out and also cooking/grilling too. We brought a potable gas grill but you could also bring charcoal as there are areas such as Joni's beach and the State and town parks that have grills and picnic table available. There is a grocery store, but as expected, everything is a little more expensive on the island. We had a great time exploring on our bikes and by foot! We did the kayak tour from right across the street and had fabulous time with our tour guide Sam!! Lots to do and we would definitely stay there again."

  • Glorious Getaway for Labor Day weekend

"My wife and I arrived late Friday evening at Jerry & Ann's place. We were then personally guided by Jerry driving ahead of us through the unfamiliar darkness on the short but curvy road to the cottage. The cabin is remarkably clean, with a mid-twentieth century rustic feel but well updated and appointed. The view of the lake and the property's water frontage present a relaxing atmosphere, as does the wooded lot and the neighbors' timber on either side of the yard, creating welcome privacy and quiet. A complete up-north accommodation, just pack your bags and a few groceries, and enjoy Soo Lake like we did. We can't wait to return."
