  • Nice house, nice lake

"House was modern as far as lake cottages go. Extremely quiet area. I wanted peaceful and that is was. Roads were good for walks and bike rides with very little if any traffic. Somewhat hilly roads if you have limitations. Beds were OK, but not great. Cleanliness was extremely good. Nice yard and view of lake from all locations including the house. Excellent , large deck and a new grill was a plus. Limited restaurants in the area but our 2 favorite were the Lakewood Café for breakfast, right in Winter and the Big Bear on the Flambeau River. This was ~ a 15 minute ride. Good spot to take day trips out to see the scenic areas including the national forest that is close by."

  • Great simple and rustic cabin in a beautiful area!

"We had a great stay in this rustic cabin! Our boys were in awe when they walked in, both saying "whoaaa!" when they saw the inside. The wildlife display is a good example of the history of the cabin. The stone fireplace is beautiful and the accommodations very comfortable. The cabin has a very good feel to it, we all felt relaxed and at peace while we were there. The view is lovely and it was incredibly peaceful. I very much enjoyed coffee on the back deck in the morning. We loved going over to Red's, everyone was very friendly and the food was great. We also rented a kayak for a day, which was very convenient and fun, they were very accommodating and made this very easy. We loved looking for the elk and hiking at Little Falls Slough Gundy was one of our favorites. We can't wait to go back to this cabin! Thank you Josh and Kaisa for sharing this cabin. • Beautifully secluded cabin

"Our stay here was wonderful. We were lucky to have amazing weather to pair with the lovely cabin. The location is extremely secluded and you feel like you have acres upon acres to yourself! We took our dogs and did some hiking nearby which was also great to see a bit of nature and just listen to the wind and the birds. The cabin itself is perfect - it appears to be quite newly remodeled with a fully stocked kitchen, cozy living room and sun room that share a fireplace which we used daily, and a bunch of books for alms it anyone's taste. We would definitely return but next time with another couple or some more people."

  • Perfect place to focus and unwind

"I came here for one week to work uninterrupted on a project, while being surrounded by beautiful nature. I finished 70 small drawings in one week, and every single day I saw bald eagles circling over the lake. I had a dinner party for some artist friends over the weekend who where blown away by the beauty of the setting. It was really easy to host a dinner party in their large kitchen area with an Island, much nicer than my tiny kitchen at home in the city. I plan to come back every year. The beauty of the lake and the eagles made it as relaxing as a vacation, even though I was working most of the time. I would recommend this cabin HIGHLY!!!!!!for artists or writers, or anyone looking for a peaceful place in the beauty of nature. I love it there."
