  • Great Getaway From the City

"I was looking for a nice lake house for a family vacation. This house did not disappoint. First off, there are no TV's in the bedrooms which meant we all had to come together and watch movies as a family. Something we rarely do at home. Gene suggested a nearby marina where we could rent a boat for the day and we had a great time on the lake (JNT Marina). FYI, if you rent from JNT you can't get to the pier behind the house which is Rice Lake. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the deck or the firepit because there were way too many bugs. There was plenty of bug spray and citronella candles but the bugs were still a nuisance. The house is very well kept. Because dogs are allowed, bring your antihistamine if you have allergies. We hope to come back to this wonderful house in the fall or winter."

  • Great River Retreat!

"My family and I stayed here for a long weekend. The newer pictures were spot on. It was nicely kept and clean. We were happy overall with our stay and the quietness of the location! We loved being right on the river and with a little creativity, were able to dock our 25' pontoon on the dock to enjoy the lake. It's about a 10 minute cruise up river to the lake, which is a nice little cruise! The only thing that isn't listed in the description right off is the nice uphill walk from the cottage to the parking area and road and the river to the cottage. It was doable even with our twin toddlers, but surely made things more interesting! The owner is great to work with and responds very quickly to emails. He answered all of our questions and was very patient with all of my emails! :) We will definitely be trying to rent here again!"

  • Great R & R

"Wow! Wish I was still sitting on front porch. There were six of us, three sisters, two daughters/nieces,cousins and one friend. We ranged in age from mid 40's to mid 60's, give or take. We were all female. We came from near and far, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon and Arizona. Miraculously we all arrived within minutes of each other. We enjoyed mornings with coffee on screened porch watching, ducks, geese, the lake and anything else we saw. We mad use of all the Osborne's had to offer. Family meals at big kitchen table every night. Followed by a fire outside in the pit along with s'mores and quickie pies. Watched TV in front of nice gas fire, a snap to start. Played cards and laughed until we ached. We used the pontoon boat and toured the lake one day. Spent a day at Lakeside beach. It's private but you can use it if you buy something to eat or drink while you are there. We had it all to ourselves the day we were there. We have loads of pictures from our visit and lot's of wonderful memories. We found Jim and Elyse very easy to work with and very accomadating. Absolutely amazing sunsets. Even saw an eagle fly over us our last night. Thanks, the girls"

  • Perfect for our family of 4

"Spur of the moment my family and I decided to head to Wisconsin for the weekend and I stumbled across Chico's listing. I messaged him right away asking if it was available he messaged right back. Great communication. Wonderful experience. We would definitely will go back again. Very clean, large kitchen and living room. My 12 year old twin boys enjoyed sitting at the breakfast bar on their laptops. Bedrooms were clean and had nice linens on them. The master bed has a nice memory foam mattress (it's rather soft). Pillows were comfortable. Washer and dryer in the unit which was nice when we came in from boating we could dry our swim suits. Being right across from the water was nice. We walked over on to the pier. Great food at the restaurant across the street. Be sure to make reservations as it was super duper busy Friday and Saturday night. The bruschetta and baked French onion soup were my favs. ."
