  • Perfect love nest in lovely country setting

"Cozy, comfortable, with lots of special touches. Charming decor, romantic outdoor patio with fire pit. Gorgeous plantings, magazine worthy. The perfect love nest."

  • Best stay yet!

"I chose to host my wedding just a few days ago and it was the perfect place! Being able to have the lodge and the beautiful scenery all weekend made our stay. Steve was very helpful getting things ready for the big day but make sure you ask a lot of questions if this is for your wedding and see pictures. He is flexible and wants the best for your stay. I recommend this for your wedding if you're looking for an amazing outdoor wedding or a great little getaway with friends or family you won't want to leave. I didn't!"

  • Wedding Weekend

"Our daughter lives nearby and had been going by this Inn for several years. She recommended we look into it for ourselves and other family members who were coming in from out-of-state for her wedding, so 6 adults and 2 children. It worked out really well for us. It was neat, clean and gave us a homelike atmosphere that we wanted to have with the two little girls (ages 14 months and 6 years). The kitchen and living room were our gathering spots and we'll have happy memories for many years to come. We really liked being in town so we could walk downtown and eat at the downtown bars, yet with the big yard and the lake across the street, it felt nicely private. The girls loved playing in the yard and it was a beautiful weekend. Lynn was very accommodating with a crib for the baby, and the 'extras' that adults enjoy drinking! The only thing that I would mention is that one bedroom with attached bathroom is in the basement. We weren't aware of that and it might be of concern to someone, although we were fine with it. We would stay there again!"

  • Perfect getaway

"We loved everything about our stay at Little Sugar River Farm. Prior to our arrival, Frank was responsive, flexible and accommodating. The house is perfect, cozy, architecturally interesting, clean, roomy. We especially enjoyed playing records from the large collection, picking a movie from the quality selection of VHS tapes, and sitting on the swing on the back porch. There were only two of us, but there was plenty of room for at least four more people. While there are two other buildings close to the house, it still felt private because we didn't really notice other people due to the way the house is situated. We cooked dinner and breakfast and had everything we needed. As for activities, we borrowed Frank's bikes and took a ride to Monticello (maybe 4 miles each way). The bikes were fine for that length of trip, but if you want to go much farther, I'd consider bringing your own. We drove to New Glarus (15 mins) and visited the brewery to sample some beers on their huge patio. We also enjoyed picking fruit from the trees and bushes right outside the house. This is a great place to get away from it all for a few days. (We only wish we could have stayed longer.) In my opinion, it's best for adults. Kids, at least young ones, may enjoy it, but may also not appreciate sitting on a porch swing the same way that adults do. But for us, it was perfect, and we hope to come back again."
