  • Quiet, Comfortable, and Slightly inconvenient all at the same time.

"I was in Madison for a week on business with EPIC in Verona and my husband came along for the ride. Initially we were not impressed when we opened the door to the apartment. I'm unsure if it hadn't been used in awhile but the heat mixed with unpleasant aromas of the house were not inviting. I ended up buying candles, Febreeze, and Air Effects to help stifle the smell. After dealing with the initial aroma, we opened windows, and tried to air the place out. We also used the fan which provided some air circulation. The kitchen was awesome for two. We had everything we needed and did most of our dining there. It really is an excellent location for those wanting to explore the ins and outs of Madison. Short drive to most attractions. My biggest issue was with the parking situation. You are not allowed to park in the driveway and although the parking on the street is free - I think it would be helpful if the owner described the parking situation a little more clearly. Kids from the high school park on this street for school, and you are only allowed to park on one side of the road between 7 and 4. On two occasions, I had to park two blocks away from the apartment. I don't believe this is factually described in the listing. Along with the other reviews, I would comment that the shower is slightly treacherous. Really high sides and very low ceiling. My 6'1" husband had a difficult time. Another thing to consider is how many outlets you may need in the bedroom and bathroom. We were charging our phones in the kitchen and I was also blow drying my hair in the kitchen. If interior design is important to you, as it is me, you may find that the photos are slightly deceiving. There are no plants, rugs, or decorative pillows on the sofa. The main rug in the living room, to my standards, is heavily stained. All of that being said, I WOULD return on my own. I hope that this review is helpful to potential renters as well as the property owner. Happy Travels!"

  • Family getaway

"We recently had our 3rd consecutive annual family reunion at Sunset Lodge. The whole family thoroughly enjoys this experience, moreso even than our previous stays at a Dells water park. Not that the water park experience was in any way bad, just that this experience is better. The private indoor pool, especially, is a hit with the grandchildren; the fishing pier is a hit with everyone as are the lower level pool table and large-screen TVs. Everything needed for meals, sleeping, laundry, etc. is available and clean and Karen, the manager, is super pleasant and helpful. We hope to be back next year."

  • Great R & R

"Wow! Wish I was still sitting on front porch. There were six of us, three sisters, two daughters/nieces,cousins and one friend. We ranged in age from mid 40's to mid 60's, give or take. We were all female. We came from near and far, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon and Arizona. Miraculously we all arrived within minutes of each other. We enjoyed mornings with coffee on screened porch watching, ducks, geese, the lake and anything else we saw. We mad use of all the Osborne's had to offer. Family meals at big kitchen table every night. Followed by a fire outside in the pit along with s'mores and quickie pies. Watched TV in front of nice gas fire, a snap to start. Played cards and laughed until we ached. We used the pontoon boat and toured the lake one day. Spent a day at Lakeside beach. It's private but you can use it if you buy something to eat or drink while you are there. We had it all to ourselves the day we were there. We have loads of pictures from our visit and lot's of wonderful memories. We found Jim and Elyse very easy to work with and very accomadating. Absolutely amazing sunsets. Even saw an eagle fly over us our last night. Thanks, the girls"
