  • One Regret

"Dianna met us at the house to give us an overview of the area and the house shortly after our arrival. She also checked on us a day later to make certain we found everything in order, which it was. We booked on short notice and found the house to be very clean and organized. The house is equipped with EVERYTHING you can think of from spices and pantry items to board games, movies, small appliances (coffee maker, Foreman grill, mixer, toaster, breadmaker and MORE ), binoculars, plenty of towels and linens, toiletries and hairdryer, internet and cable tv. You will be hard pressed to find a better equipped/stocked home anywhere. There's plenty of seating inside and out to enjoy the views. The screened in, heated sunroom/porch also provides additional seating. You have a choice of using a charcoal or gas grill and a fire pit. The gardens around the house and the yard is well kept and beautiful, even in the fall. We dined at Joan's Cafe in Hustisford, The Rock River Tap in Horicon and at Maria's Taqueria in Waterford -- all very good and reasonably priced with good service. Be sure to save room for the churros at Maria's Taqueria! In the area we enjoyed the seasonal Marsh Boat Tour, visiting the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center (Explorium) and trails which are very easy to walk and vary in length from .25 boardwalk to 2.3 miles and the Auto Tour at the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge --where we saw a whooping crane!! We also enjoyed using the fire pit, the sunrises, sunsets and the birds coming to the feeders at the house. There were gold and purple finches, chickadees, nuthatches, cardinals, and 3 kinds of woodpeckers. My one regret is we only booked 4 nights! I am a travel agent and am accustomed to scrutinizing properties. I could not find fault with anything at this property. We hope to return and definitely recommend this home to our family, friends and you."

  • Outstanding cabin, town, and lake

"We rented the cabin for a New Years weekend get together and had a group of 10 adults from Chicago ranging from 26-35 years in age. The kitchen and living room area is huge and way bigger than we expected from the photos we saw on line. The owners are awesome and meet us right when we arrived and gave us a great tour of their cabin and also provided great info on events happening that weekend in town, around the lake, and where we could find groceries and alcohol. The cabin was plenty big for all of us and had every kitchen appliance you could think of and had great space for board games, cards, listening to music, watching tv or movies. It also has great patio space out back. New Years in Hustisford was outstanding. The town had a great toilet bowl parade, tug of war, and fire fighter water fight. We very much enjoyed the festivities, to pub crawl through down town, and the party at the community center. Everyone was very nice and we enjoyed making fast friends with everyone. We plan to make this an annual trip and would love to come back in the summer as well. Thank you for a great experience!"

  • Great weekend at the lake!

"We had a wonderful weekend at Barb and Rick's house on Lake Sinnissippi! The house is directly on the lake with beautiful views. The hosts provided many small, helpful items as well as kayaks and a canoe to use. The wrap-around porch was nice to eat and watch the sunsets. The hosts were also very responsive to emails to ensure everything went according to plan."

  • Excellent place to stay!

"Every year we have a group of Christian ladies who pick a place to enjoy a weekend together to laugh, cry, share stories and bible studies. Sunset Cove was wonderful! It was so homey and welcoming. It had nice furniture and warm fall decorations that just made it special. It was a beautiful November weekend and we were able to take out the canoes and kayaks on the lake which was just awesome! We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a well kept, pretty home for a weekend retreat or family vacation."
